There's an SG Gala in Toronto on Saturday. An excellent opportunity to meet lots of people from the site.

I live about a 7 hour drive north/northeast of Toronto, so it's doable. I can drive down, and I can borrow money for a hotel room.

But.... I am a serious introvert. I'm very shy about making that initial contact. Just saying 'hi' is very difficult for me.

(As an aside, if someone says hi to me, and they seem interesting, then I might never shut up - you've been warned).

So, do I spend time and money to go to an event where I may end up just standing in the corner and never meeting anyone? I swear there have been times when I've attended things (not SG things) and no one would have known I had been there. I'm a big guy, but you'd think I was invisable at social events.

So I'm very torn. I really want to meet some of these great people I've begun to know. It'll have been two months since I started on SG, so it's not like anyone is dying to meet me, yet.

Besides, I'm the kind of dork who'll end up meeting someone there and getting a crush on them, not realizing that they have no interest in me.
