Sporadically writing, and it’s kind of annoying. Once upon a time, not so long ago, I was consistently blogging in the evenings. And then a few shifts occurred and now I’m struggling to get back into a writing routine. I have, however, made some shifts to better focus on my writing projects. Currently, I am actively working on a novella, a psychophysiology-based publication, and a marketing newsletter.

The newsletter is probably the only consist bit of writing I’ve done long term, and that’s still only been running for less than a year.

For someone who aspires to be a writer, I sure do suck at showing up. Hence, the shifts to improve this.

A friend and I have started a writing group for the purpose of sitting our asses down and moving forward with our respective projects. It’s a two-man show at the moment, but we’re creating guide rails for bringing in others to aspire to write. I’m also engaged in a local writers group that has a few meetups throughout the region. Nothing helps light a fire quite like community.

I’m well over halfway done with the first draft of my novella. I feel really strongly about the story, and everyone to whom I’ve read it is hankering for more, which is encouraging. I need to finish this damn thing. And then I gotta write the next one. And the next one. And the next one.

After all, the purpose of being done is to do more.
