I'm in the middle of moving to Illinois! I'm really excited, except for the part where I wasn't finished packing my old house and some asshole broke in and stole some of my stuff...think happy thoughts.

We just got LA Noire and I like to knit while my boyfriend is playing. When he is interrogating someone we both scrutinize their facial expression and demeanor to try and guess if they're lying or not. I feel like the fact that this is the most interesting thing that I have to update means that my life may be somewhat lacking... and yet I...

Well, the video is taking longer than Sean thought it would- he's really busy with his internship/school/work. Oh well, it'll be up eventually smile

I just finished reading Let The Right One In. Holy shit, I loved it!!! I thought the movie was really good but the book was amazing- all of the characters are so much more fleshed out and there was a lot of...

The convention was amazing!!!! My boyfriend videotaped most of it and is putting together a short video of everything they had. It was so fun. I've never been to one before so it was pretty eye opening. My boyfriend got an Asuka figurine and I got a green power ranger shirt and I had Japanese soda for the first time. It's called Ramune and there's...

I can not wait to see the video. Just out of curiosity, is your Power Rangers shirt from the original ones or is the Green Ranger from the Samurai series. My boyfriends son, who is four is obsessed with that show. We got him several of the action figures for his birthday on the 5th. I have a feeling he will be wanting to attend conventions with us in the future. Or so we can hope. They are a blast! biggrin I am glad you had a great time.

To answer your question about dressing up for Tsubasacon, I so wanted to. Prior to going to convention last October, I had to actually finish my very first anime series. I had recently subscribed to the anime network through my cable provider and one day I noticed an anime called "To Love Ru." I read the preview for it and decided to give it a whirl. After watching one episode I was hooked and started looking on the net for the rest of the episodes. In case you haven't seen it, the main synopsis of this particular anime is Yuuki Rito, a high-school boy who cannot confess his love to the girl of his dreams named, Sairenji Haruna. One day when coming home and sulking in the bath-tub a mysterious, nude girl, appears out of nowhere. Her name is Lala and she comes from the planet Deviluke, where she is the heir to the throne. Her father wants her to return to her home planet so she can marry one of the husband candidates, but she decides that she wants to marry Rito in order to stay on Earth. So basically it was a love/science fiction sort on anime.

Anyhow, after watching "To Love Ru," I noticed I had a lot of similarities with the character of Sairenji. We were both short, petite, and had purple hair (which I no longer have frown ) Anyhow, so I mentioned to my boyfriend, Pezmaster that I was thinking of looking for cosplay costumes for that anime. Sure enough they had the exact school girl uniform that Sairenji throughout the entire anime. I seriously considered ordering it. Pezmaster however, suggested that I do not dress up for cosplay my first year. He said that it would be better if I got a feel for how the convention was and met some people there first, since I had never been. He has gone for several years now. So ultimately, I listened to his advice.

It is held ever year in October in Huntington, West Virginia, which is almost two hours away from our home. We are already making plans to go and I really want to dress up this year. So who knows what will happen. The best thing about Tsubasacon in my opinion was all the great Japanese food and candy as well as the amazing rave they hold on the last night. It was my first rave as well! I also got to meet a really cool voice actor named Spike Spencer. So it was a lot of fun and I can not wait until October to go back. This year it is few days before my birthday so I will really get to celebrate.

Thanks so much for the recommendations on some good anime to check out. I am still trying to find what genre it is I really like! smile

I'm super excited that the semester is almost over! Yesterday I got my final piece that I have to interpret and I'm really excited about that too smile It's called Body Pickup and it's about when one of my teachers was 19 and worked at a hospital- one of his jobs was to help move the dead bodies down to the morgue. I think it should...

The cat will be pissed for awhile but he will adjust. He won't thank you or buy you flowers or anything though.
eroticgeek:
I agree with suispud1, you cat is going to be pissed for days. I remember when I took my Main Coon Leo to get neutered he cried the whole way to the vet. Then peed all over himself in the cat carrier because he is an indoor kitty and the noises outside scared him. Now every time he sees the cat carrier he pees instantly. Good luck with the rest of the semester and I definitely think you should treat yourself with the tattoo. Be sure to post pictures when you get it done. smile

I can not cook unless there is a microwave or drive-thru involved. LMAO! That is the extent of my culinary abilities. Unless you count grilled cheeses and fried eggs gourmet. I sure do not. Hey, at least you tried. I would not have even attempted something that advanced. Although, I am sure I could have least gotten the water to boil for the pasta correctly! *giggles* Better luck next time. smile

Thanks miss. So far I sew bags, phone sleeves, book sleeves, odds and ends, nothing fancy. I don't have an Etsy store, I need to sew up a bunch of stuff to sell before I open one up. One of these days though.

I made another amazing dinner last night. I'm really excited about cooking! The cookbook I have is really great- it's super helpful for people that are beginners. I think it's either Better Homes and Gardens or Betty Crocker- I can't remember which. Anyway, whenever I'm like "what does mince really mean" or "how long is ginger good for" or "if I don't have/don't like such...
