turning thirty one is sooo much cooler than turning thirty. thirty packs all this anxiety in one small punch. but thirty one is easy like sunday morning. i don't like to judge my life based on years anyhow, but it seems that there are some that are hard to avoid. my general attitude toward new thirtysomethings is that they take themselves as a whole way too seriously. it's like everyone goes, "no, this time for real. time to grow up. no fooling around this time." see how adult i am? and thirty is not the new twenty. it's thirty. but it's no big deal. especially when i consider i have only lived a little less than one fourth of my life.
