I've got a job in the school I'm training which is fucking sweet. I can spend this summer on the beach throwing pebbles at boats.

I'm so sick of hearing Patrick Truman shouting, 'Me son.'

I'm knackered. I've been teaching in this really nice school about 30 miles out of Brighton and as much of a laugh as it is I can't wait to finish for Christmas. Spending all your time with teenagers is like doing crack.

So Steve got married and I wore a suit. I'm not sure which was the more shocking for people. What a superb time for all though.

Well Bournemouth didn't happen so went up to London to go to The Social and then Killallhippies at Canvas. Super night. Then Back to Brighton the next morning for outside drinking all day. That explains why I ended up in The TopTotty lapdancing club discussing digi-editing with a man from Hull while avoiding the bum that was waving around to my left. What can I...

I've already sampled Buddie's. puke Blame Kate, she dragged us there, I was all for sushi at Moshi Moshi or something. I had a chilli burger- which basically comprised of a burger with raw chilli paste poured on top. It did not do my digestive system a lot of good. Sooooo much poo.

I like the fact that all the chavs here have had to grow up seeing lots of freaks and gays so they're used to it, plus they're outnumbered by about 10 to 1. A huge change to what I'm used to.

I didn't see that episode of Eastenders! How fucking bizarre!

I've recovered from the emotional turmoil that was my leaving do; we laughed, we cried, we said our goodbyes.

I've got this week off and what was the first thing I did monday morning? Yes, I went to the shop. How did they open without me? I'm out; I can't go behind the tills, I had to be escorted up to the offices, everyone was...

I spent all day on the shop floor today, serving customers. shelving books, finding things for people. I managed to get to lunch without crying and then I went slushy because I had gin and tonics for dinner and we started talking about the old days.

I've just shut the shop up for the last time ever, this time tomorrow I'll be a book buyer...

What a busy boy I've been, but what a special ten days I've had.

I no longer work in a bookshop. After 7 years I'm out, Waterstone's has seen the last of me.

I met up with my old area manager who now works at head office and he asked me If I'd ever thought of leaving to go to head office, I said 'uh...
