Apologies for not being very interactive recently/being behind on messages. Life has been HECTIC. Work is in overdrive with the end of the year. Plus working on OF. Plus just... existing in this year, the worst of years, 2020?

But! As this hell-year comes to a close I'm actually pretty stoked about things. My office closes from Christmas to New year's which I was already looking forward to. But! My manager knows things have been extra bananas this year and particularly the last month so she gave my whole department an extra week off. Yee!

Also, I think I've mentioned that I was hoping to be moving to Utah early next year...aaand that is a go! I'm sad to be leaving California, and San Diego in particular. But not going too far away. And! I'm going to be surrounded by so much beautiful hiking! And a much more reasonable cost of living! Not working my ass off to live paycheck to paycheck every month is going to be such a game changer! My partner and I are taking advantage of my two weeks off to go out and look at places. We were originally hoping to move sometime between March-June, but I think it's going to be more like February-March now which is SO SOON and kind of scary, but also really exciting.

I'm ready for change. I'm ready for new things. Ready for hope.

I'm stoked for every new piece of good news about the vaccine. Stokes to get the vaccine. Relieved my dad is getting vaccinated this week (is older, works in healthcare). I've worried about him a lot this year.

I have zero expectations that 2021 takes us right back to normal but - I do think it brings us back to hope. Vaccines coming. Trump out of office (if they have to forcibly remove him can that be livestreamed?). Moving. Basically - new beginnings all around.

I'm not much of a winter holiday person typically. But this year I'm into it. I want to go into the new year looking up and forward. So far so good.
