I've got to agree with @amberetta on this!

@cvtgrrl_shan Even more important, it's little things that make us feel appreciated.  Little positives on a very regular basis (at least a couple times a day) mean a lot more than some big gesture on rare occasions.  At the very least, @nanette deserves a potato carved like a swan presented with a sincere thank you and long warm hug with a kiss on the forehead.  He should return from the picnic with a couple tasty treats and snuggle time to counterbalance his being gone.
