My Birthday...

Friday was my 34th birthday - a few of us took the day off work and spent a days drinking, eating and gigging in London...

Started off at 14.00, and because of the nice weather, we decided to walk from Waterloo Station to Covent Garden.

Once in Covent Garden, we got the beers in at The Porterhouse (#1) and proceeded to get slightly...

Aint been to the Dungeon for a while now, so I dont mind visiting the place. Always good for laugh watching the tourists faces when the bollock crushers are produced for display smile Dunno who's got my number, some of the UK peeps have. I've mailed it anyway just in case. See you tomorrow

Ok SG-ers...be warned, its a long journal this week eeek

Where has the year gone!! mad

Its my birthday in a weeks time, and I'm having one of those "what have I done this year" moments.
from the outset - not a lot. I'm stuck in a completely pointless, ambition-draining job, doing something I not only hate, but don't even understand anymore. this needs to be addressed...

Thanks Munch! kiss
Halloween was a good laff altho, Nadine was feeling a lil poorly and didn't wanna dance or nuthin frown

Wow, i can't believe you got thru your whole journal using puke only once! Sounds nasty, when that happens it usually means that you have to tick that particular drink of your fave drinks list, which is always a shame blackeyed

Hope you feel better now hun kiss
cousindell:
eeek poor munch...ugh makes me not wanna drink for a while..just a while mind!

i was sick last halloween..have you ever seen a nun puke 10 pints and a vegi kebab?!

you fave band are playin tj's in newport in december..you probably seein em in london but you should go to the tj's gig..cause i said so wink

so, me and my bestest gig buddy watched The Wicker Man on Friday - she found it amusing, and significantly disturbing, even if the more "musical" elements of the film freaked her out more than the wicker man itself. she also couldn't believe how young Edward Woodward looked...

and for the record, Britt Ekland definately has a stunt arse...we paused it and zoomed in on...

i'm getting warmed up for Janes Addiction on thurs.
my friend works at the dome where they're playing and he says we should be able to get in for the sound check

biggrin
sorry to hear your back at work frown
it happens to the best of us whatever
big_dave:
I'll see you tomorrow matey smile

The Wicker Man should be on the national curriculum. Not least cos of Britt Ekland's arse. Or stunt-arse, if you believe the rumours.

just seen Kill Bill for the second time this weekend. biggrin
it really is a totally awesome movie - QT has proved himself yet again, and was well worth the 6 year wait.

nice to see a proper 18 cert movie, in this new climate of watered down 15s and the all new pathetic 12a... whatever

loadsa blood n guts, a twisty turny plot, some funny stolen...

I think movie certification is way lenient nowadays, though... stuff that would have been a 15 four years ago is now a 12a and most stuff that would have been an 18 has been a 15 in recent years... or so it seams to me.

We should have a different movie rating system, anyways... with HARDCORE ADULT CONTENT being the highest rating biggrin

Also, I think things like 12a for The Two Towers is fine when you're talking of actual disturbing content, but the truth of the matter is most kids under 12 just wouldn't GET the film, so why let them see it in movie theatres where they get bored and spoil everyone elses enjoyment? EH?!

Ahem.

So, yeah. There should also be a seperate certification based on how complicated and "adult" the story/subject matter is, not just how much violence, gore, sex and bad language is contained.

Dang, time off work always sounds like a good idea, until you realise that you've got jack shit to do!
I always say, write a book, everyone should write their autobiography when they are ill! I tend to draw or cut stuff out, but being an artist, i can never really have a day off.
The car is going great guns, i just wish that i could drive it properly!

The candids are good, there's quite a few that I like scattered over the site. I'll have to get that album, I've been shelling out on films more recently so I should really get something new to listen. The 14th looks like it should be another good all niter smile

There was a dizzying amount of people present eeek , and was good to get to meet (in no particular order): Abaddon, Mariana, Hermes, NickySonic, Kinto ME, Cakemix, PartiallyBlind, and...

Am aiming to be in London for about 6 at the latest. Dunno about Sanctum, it requires crashing at somebody's pad, so I'll play it by ear...

If the company's good at the Rocket we'll just stay there mate smile
maelwys:
Yep, I'll be the long haired drunken ginger geek proping up the bar. Should get there around 6ish.

I think the sites new look will take me a long time to get used to. I just hope it stops giving me headaches, I have to do a 5 minute burst of posting and take a break for a while!

added some new photos today - don't get too excited though...

so, the holiday was awesome, Rancid and Alkaline Trio were both fantastic last weekend, and everything went to shit...

Luckily I'm off the antibiotics now, which is good - the ears still feel a bit weird, but they will sort themselves out soon I guess whatever

Was it that long ago that the Royal George changed? I know I hadn't been there for a while, but I didn't think it was that long ago.

I will definately pop along for drinks before the gig and, assuming there are tickets still available on Monday when I pop into the City, the show itself. Two days off work along with beer and music is just to good to resist smile
maelwys:
Oh yeah, mini-mosher at gigs. Me and my mate refer to them as 'targets'. Damn wheres and evil grin smiley when you need one.
