so, the holiday was awesome, Rancid and Alkaline Trio were both fantastic last weekend, and everything went to shit...
Luckily I'm off the antibiotics now, which is good - the ears still feel a bit weird, but they will sort themselves out soon I guess

Suicide Girls has really come into its own for me since I joined six months ago. I've got to know some fab people, met a couple of fantastic new friends, and now want to go on more and more meets!
Hopefully the Cardiff meet next friday will be good fun - I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone. And the following week should be my first London meet, which will be great.
SuicideGirls is described as being "punk, emo and goth" girls - and obviously attracts that kind of like-minded person.
I must admit, I find that kind of label a bit of a generalisation. But it makes it easy to categorise everybody. All my "alternative" friends have moved on with their lives - they are all still punk rockers/goths/whatever, and are among my closest friends, but the marriages and children and big mortgages make it hard for them to be around all the time - which is understandable, their responsibilities have changed now. When we get together its the best...but my situation in life hasn't really moved on since my early 20's, and I feel you need a group of people with a similar outlook to get together with from time to time...
So where do i meet other like minded people? How do you expand your circle of "punky" friends? You certainly don't meet them at london gigs (where the mini moshers look at you like you're some old bastard).
SG has been great for me, because I have met more people on a similar wavelength I could have hoped for.
The sense of community is amazing, and for that, I thank everyone who has been posting in my journals for the last six months.
I hope this hasn't come across like the ramblings of a madman - its my ham-fisted attempt at a deeper than usual journal!

I will definately pop along for drinks before the gig and, assuming there are tickets still available on Monday when I pop into the City, the show itself. Two days off work along with beer and music is just to good to resist
