Today i've been editing some footage of Elliott. I came across this still from a documentary. The image says a lot to me. It speaks of loneliness and sorrow, reflection and pain. I haven't really gotten past his death. It pains me to know that there are young songwriters out there that will never get to witness what he could convey with a guitar and a voice. I can only really compare what he meant to me to Nick Drake, or Willie Nelson.
"go on and lose the gamble that's the history of the trade"
Tonight i'll be at the Bottom of the Hill , incase anyone needs me. I'll be listening to the Heavenly States, Dealership and The Lovemakers. Come by and grab a hug and some whiskey. It's that time of year.
"what makes you think you're so tough, when all the people you think you're above, they all know what's the matter"
I'd rather have been walking back to you where I belong. I should have been a million things that happened to go wrong.
