Yes, once again, it's Home Improvement Sunday.

We're pulling up the carpet in the family room and the flooring out of the bathroom and insulating the floor. Hopefully the carpet will be in good enough shape to just put it back. It still looks good, but it's kind of old and I'm worried it'll end up shredded. I don't want to buy new carpet tongue But...

Wow! These things never come to mind when everything is apart. Only once everything has been put back together. Then folks start getting brave and thinking "Well, if that worked , then THIS should be easy"!

Good luck! The destructive part is always fun! And depending on the tile material a wet saw is good messy fun as well! wink
breezey:
Taking things apart is always fun, it tends to be even better when you can get it back together! biggrin Just think, if you have to buy nre carpet, think how good it will feel all nice and squishy between your toes

...maybe I'll just go back to bed.

Later that day...

Or not. It appears that my car has two issues. One is that the exhaust system has come apart and I'll have to have it replaced. That doesn't explain the sudden lack of power when I step on it, though, so I'm still considering whether I should sell off Moosabella and go for that Lumina....

Luminas are cool looking! Heck, I'd gladly buy one if it was cheap eough just because I like the look of them! wink

Perhaps it's a sign to buy yourself a Lumina???
goblintcat:
Now THAT sounds like an adventure! Good luck! Just keep visualizing what the end result will be!

I was going to start out with a joke, but I can never remember jokes. So I called my 8 year old niece to ask for a little help and she offered up one joke she made up all by herself and one moldy oldie.

Now for your groaning pleasure, I present to you: Stacie's Joke

Why did the chocolate chip cookie have to go...

I just got the tranny in my 71 Vw bus done for $558.80. Thanks to it being a vw and I whored out some of my comp tickets.
I'm feeling a little better the mother-in-law gave me a pill of some sort that helped. biggrin

Okay this is my favorite joke ever!

Who's there?
Interupting Cow
Interupting Cow...
Mooo

I know it's bad, but I love it anyways
goblintcat:
That's always the way isn't it. The night you want to go...anywhere, is the night something stupid happens to your car! frown

It's like last Saturday when I lost my brakes. All I wanted to do was go to Walmart and buy a duvet cover for my new (and first) duvet and Poof! no brakes...thus no cover....thus trying to gt home in something resembling one piece.

I hope it all turns out well. I'd send you my car if I thought it would be any safer. eeek

I haven't talked about this much lately because it's too depressing, but I'm still job-hunting. (Why is it too much to want a job that comes with health insurance? I've turned a few offers down for just that reason. None of them paid enough for me to buy it on my own and still make the bills.)

I applied for a job at the police...

the good luck fairy just dumped her whole bag of special dust on your noggin, so now you have nothing to worry about. BUT you will kick ass without her help too.. wink

SG IS a rainy day emergency. It's...umm...people networking skills! Yeah! wink

Yay, a temporary reprieve from 57 degree temps! They've put it off until tomorrow.

Yay, another day of yard work...er, wait confused

I can't believe it's October. I also can't believe I just ordered my first Christmas gift. What is the world coming to??

...did I mention I'm going to see my best friend for a few days? It'll be good for both of us.
digipunk:
Wow a Christmas gift already?

My plan this year is to do what i did last year. I'm going to buy all my presents online. I hate shopping in stores at Christmas. People are rude, and there are just too many of them around at that time of the year.smile
goblintcat:
Christmas shopping! Good idea. I'm sending the Borg chimps to do my shopping for me this year! As their king they should feel honoured! wink

Ever had that feeling that you're just completely losing control of your life? Yeah, me too.

However, I am enjoying Vanessa's new set, maybe a little too much biggrin

Back to yard work. Today is sunny and beautiful and the temp is in the upper 80s. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and gloomy with a temp in the middle 50s. At least I'll have a...

That might just be some weird tastebud thing on my part..or I had a girlfriend at some point who had lipstick that tasted like Dr. Pepper! Who knows where these ideas come from! whatever

I really think it's time for a new car. When losing the brakes doesn't even phase me any more it's time to say goodbye to the beagle I do believe.

Of course, I should probably settle down and pick a sofa before I go into the realm of cars. Lord knows what would happen to me then! eeek
paintedbat:
do you have a different garden for fall or does everything just die and go to sleep till spring?

I love moose!!
But I've seen so many in real life that I don't even care anymore. hahaha

Today's my sister's 13th wedding anniversary.

I feel old.

The two have little to do with each other. I feel old every day anyway.

Clockhammer, I told my cousin what you said about her picture, and she said:

Tell him thanks. He needs glasses, but thanks.

Did I mention she's in a bad mood this morning? She works with idiots biggrin

Hurray for Saturday, especially when Better Than Ezra will be playing in approximately 9 hours biggrin

Although I have a very odd feeling that Deanna is going to back out of going with me. So either I'll go alone (not bloody likely) or I'll end up being a 3rd wheel with Angie and her new boyfriend, who I haven't met yet, but who I know I...

Ok, so October 1 can get here. After that, it can be Christmas, then it can just hurry up and be spring again smile

BTE's playing tomorrow night. At a show that is NOT on their website or on the street team site. And it's only being promoted by one radio station, which is actually the one of the very last stations I would consider...

Leonard Cohen is a fine musician. I have his book of poetry and song lyrics. "Famous Blue Raincoat" is still my favourite but there's not much I don't like! smile

I always said Tom Waits was a song writer who happened to be quite poetic, while Leonard Cohen was a poet who happened to write great songs! So he's not only Canadain but also from my neck of the woods!
brds8myface:
amazing!! i saw that you tap out some of L.C.'s lyrics and he is my favourite!!! He is currently in my cd play in both house and car..you are a goddess!

THAT'S why your my favourite!!!! I thught I was the only one to get excited about that!

That series rocked!!! Well what there was of it! smile

Oh yes and the bed was safely out of the rain! Not by much but still out of reach! Yay for not sleeping in a soggy bed! smile

Sadly I'm still on the hunt for the right sofa. I think that's the only thing that struck me "Just Like Heaven". The guy chose his apartment based on how comfortable the sofa was in it. I can understand that sort of thinking! wink

By the way, I was a big fan of the Hardy Boys when I was young too!
