I woke up today, my last day of work......covered from head to toe in a rash, that turned out to be poison ivy... I swear if i look at it, i get it.
So, I left work in the middle today, and went to get a shot in my booty. They put me on prednisone a steroid cream, an antihistamine, and an anti inflammatory.
good times. I also have some ivy stuff that works amazing to stop the itchiness. so far I haven't itched any of it. This stuff works really well. But not so well that it is gone.
Lovely way to spend my last day. I wish my sales were better. My commission check will only be 13 dollars. but i also did not work very many days.... so that is to be expected.
I feel so lonely..... life deals me bad cards yet i still smile. I will miss my job. very much. I hope this means something better is coming? I am not sure what I will do in the meantime. My mom, I take care for her, also lost her job last month. Things are very tight for us. she almost has her house paid off, so i hope she doesn't lose it before then.
again, i still manage to stay so positive. Like today at work, i felt miserable(and itchy) i still came in, i waited on my patients, and i held a smile as was my sweet self. One lady was so grateful yesterday for how i treated her, when she picked up her glasses, she cried and brought me chocolates and such. she explain dhow no one is very nice to her or patient as i was. it makes me so sad how crappy people are to people who are handicapped.
a good example of this was today, when i left work and was int he lobby waiting on my new meds, and this lady sat down next to me. she looked fairly normal. she was up at the counter before i came into her view kinda harassing(nicely) the ladies in the office about coming out to see her puppy. they were brushing her off and one lady rolled her eyes. so i purposely got her attention and she immediately turned her attention on me, and relieved the ladies of her burden. I wasn't doing anything so why not. I let her talk for a bit and humored her. she was just lonely. probably schizophrenic and bipolar. the reason it take care of my mother is for this reason(minus the schizo part) but i know it when i see it. she was very sweet. cooing over me and telling me how pretty i was and she patted my head and blew me kisses and such. even tho she is socially handicapped, i still didnt mind at all. and i figured it allowed the ladies to do their job.
i deal with these people at work a lot. so to me it is normal. i have dealt with crazy my whole life. so i understand it.
we have a program set up at my job, where these low income seniors, and some disabled people can come in and get glasses with no charge. were talking about 400 dollars usually worth of stuff, for nothing. we only make 70.95 back on all of this. we do not profit at all. we actually lose. but, i dont care. i love these people. and i will miss helping them most of all. they were my best, and sometimes worst patients, but knowing they had the gift of sight when they left my office, made me feel good. some of them just want something for free, and will complain. but i brush them off because most of the time they are so grateful. i will miss talking to these old people(mostly in their 80's 90's) about their hardships and their lives.
I grew so much as a person in such a short time at this job. i realized how much i am capable of as a person. and i met so many wonderful and not so wonderful people. it was a good thing.
im just reflecting. i feel like a huge loss not having this job anymore.
tomorrow is art hop. im excited to go look at stuff and maybe set up on a corner with my own.

You'll find a job somewhere. When you do, I hope you'll consider doing some volunteer work since you seem to have the compassion and empathy necessary for it... you're a sweet kid, spread it around!
