Speaking of weddings and such, it's my parents' 35th anniversary today. They are truly some amazing people and I feel fortunate to have gotten to know them as an adult. Many people don't, as they move away at 18 still full of angst, piss and vinegar. Selfish and intent on finding themselves, they continue to think of their parents through the eyes of hormonal dramaqueens.
Thankful for Larry and Jean I am! I wanted to find them a meaningful gift befit of the Jade/Coral Anniversary, so I found a beautiful little juniper bonzai tree - kind of a mix of Jade and coral and a living metaphor of longevity and harmony that their marriage symbolizes. And I just watched Karate Kid again last night.
I will be fortunate indeed if I can spend thirty-five happy, fruitful years with the woman I love.
God, they're old.

I'm officially starting the countdown to my big move. I'm setting the date at December 27th, 2004. Travelling between Christmas and New Years. Should be a blast! I'm going to try and talk Tweetah, my brother, into coming along for the ride.
Somebody else do the math, I'm heading out for a mini-golf tourney with MissKaboom and the venerable voice-over virtuoso, Patrick Lawler. Daaaamn you Lawler!!!! Good people, good times!
