Finally mowed the backyard today, after a good 8 weeks of utter neglect. It looks like the combine just came through the hayfield, and smells like it too, but the long grass all summer long kept the bugs offa my garden.

Speaking of which, there are still a few late tomatoes on the vine. Had an unbelievable harvest this year -- i think we brought in a good 30 lbs over the past two and a half months off of nine plants. It's a shame little else thrived as well, but that's fine. These 'maters have done their job keeping me free of illness and full in the belly.

Looks like I'm heading up to Vermont this weekend to help my sister move into her new digs off campus at Green Mountain College. Seriously, this is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.. especially right now. "The leaves are neon", she says. Perhaps I'll bring back some Madhatter and Otter Creek beers, provided the border guards aren't dicks. Definitely won't be bringing back herb for the very same reason. I'm going to smoke the shit out of some while I'm up there though. Mmmmm, I'm a sucker for organic kindbud.

Speaking of which, check out some new ones that Les and I took this weekend.. we had a blast outside in the forest preserve by our house.
