Oh my goodness! That is one fantastic house you guys have!

One of these days I need to get my act together, overcome my fear of permanence and commitment and just buy one. God knows my income taxes could use the break!

Congratulations again! biggrin
_jordan_:
Damn, nice pad. I hope y'all are settled in and enjoying it!

Why is it that when I finally buy a house it gets in danger of burning down? The San Diego Fire is on the other side of town. They've started evacuating people from that area and now I'm just waiting for them to evacuate us.

I hear ya...the hills behind my house (my back yard) looks like theres a mushroom cloud above them...Something more from the Santiago Fire in OC. And 2 more popped up here too.
Stay safe man. I got a friend out there too. frown

So we didn't buy the house. The mortgage company tried to change the terms of our agreement at the last minute so we decided to walk away. They expected us to come in the deal with $10,000 up front extra than what we originally agreed on and told us about it three-four hours before we were supposed to sign the agreements.

Dicks.

Well... bleeding out my heart on the internets didn't rally help last time so here's some good news:

I just bought a four bedroom house with a pool. Pictures to follow sometime soon.

I had the same reaciton that Dmac had. I just didn't know what to say.

Well, you've come a real long way. You're a married homeowner. You changed your name to honor your stepfather and distance yourself from your father. IMHO, you at least know what's going on in your life and, as lame as this may sound, knowing is half the battle. There are many people out there who have problems similar to yours who aren't so lucky to have that level of awareness; they just stumble through life leaving a trail of destruction. You, on the other hand, are aware of what goes on in your head and you're making a concious effort to keep it together. Again, that's more than what I can say for most people, SPD or not.

Congrats on having a four bedroom house! Badass! Hopefully when you get settled in, we kind find each other on IM. I miss our long conversations.

Take care bro.

PS

Buy a punching bag for your basement. I'm totally serious. I've been gettin' a little aggro now and then and somedays I just wish I had something to wail on.
decedent:
congratulations on the house. as the future owner of a small pool, you now need to be ever-vigilant as to not let any wandering animals or small children haphazardly drown in it. shit happens.

Update time:

So I went through a bunch of tests recently. I've been flying off the handle and doing things that are generally disastrous to myself and worrisome to my wife. After a series of testing and scanning it has finally been revealed that the main core of my problems is that I have a Schizotypal personality disorder. In case you're wondering what that is...

The wife and I went house hunting yesterday and came back completely disappointed. We looked at about ten houses and they were all beaters or generally ugly. It's been three or four months now since we started looking for a house and we have yet to find even one that we like. She's still in high spirits about the whole thing but I'm starting to...

So I haven't really slept in the last few days. The thing is that I can't seem to untense my muscles and it causes a lot of pain when I try to lay down. I take a nap every once in a while but the pain comes back and I'm left tired and semi-psychotic. Any suggestions?
dmac:
Spring for a real massage. It's worth the expense and will get you feeling better quicker than any drugs can. If the massage thing isn't possible, go get some of those icy hot patch things from the pharmacy and take about 800 mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours.

but I still say spring for the massage. You won't regret it. smile
