..... that it seems like it was almost staring back at you?

There are so many thoughts in my head that would probably benefit from being written down, but there's something in there that is auditing my thoughts before they hit the page. I sit and think about what I want to say and that spiteful little voice whispers "That's what you want to...

You are and always will be your own worst critic. Even your blogs are interesting to read. I'm not going to tell you to just come out of your shell because that would be wrong of me. What I will say is that your SG friends are very accepting people and I'm sure we'd really enjoy reading your thoughts.

I think we all need something to smile about today.

Tonight at Chez Meph, we have a (semi) traditional corned silverside, with sides of potatoes & carrots boiled in the pickling liquor, steamed cabbage and zucchini, all smothered in my patented cheesy white sauce of doom.

Because it's not fun if you can't feel your arteries hardening from there! :P

Sounds pretty tasty

Everyone has demons. Everybody has a mirror version of themselves that can take over in some situations. It's often challenging to accept this fact, especially when it revolves around aspects of your own psyche that you repress, or actively dislike.

I have anger management issues, I won't deny it. I got to the point where I gave my rage a name so that...

@1akbrian almost exclusively loud, very angry music and a nice fps game. I'm not going to permanently hurt luminous pixels, but can lose myself in the fantasy of being a natural force of destruction. If I break out my copy of Astro-creep:2000 and Borderlands 2, then my other half tends to bring me liquid refreshments and the occasional head scritch while leaving me to it :p

That's a good idea I have a few fps that I could try that with, I don't know why that never crossed my mind.

One could argue that it's way too early on a Sunday morning for this level of introspective thought. Still, when someone as fascinating as @chefbeth presents a blog post that kicks off an interesting thought exercise, you heed the call.

I recently had a discussion with someone that included the following line:

People see what they want to see.

This is a fundamental truth...

@chefbeth I may have specifically been thinking of you and your 10 things blog post while putting this together. I don't think it could be any more processed if I tried :p
chef:
Looks yummy to me.  I think the cheese could have been much more processed.  You could have a block of velveeta sitting there ;)

This has not been the best year for many of us. There has been fear, and pain. Life has thrown everything it has at us, but we all stand here at the end of the year, unbroken.

Look at us, our strength hangs by a thread. If this is to be our Christmas, then I would have us make such a Christmas, as to be...

I'd like to open by saying that this one isn't like my other posts. It covers an incredibly unpleasant period in my life, but talking about this one is less a form of therapy, and more to benefit others. One specific other in this instance, who is going through his own private hell. If this tale can serve as a warning, or a...

@griffxx I know what you mean dude, but I was already a long way along the path of having trust issues before these events. About the best I can muster these days while maintaining my sanity is to give every new person I meet the benefit of a clean slate. I don't hold their past, nor the opinions of others against them, but they only get one shot. If they cross the line, I no longer feel safe associating with them.

What a compelling story. That couldn't have been easy for you to tell (much less LIVE through). I admire your courage in sharing this story to help out a friend. Good for you. And you seem to have learned a tremendous amount from this experience. Learning is aleast a positive thing even if it comes from a negative situation. 😊

I've walked this earth for thirty eight years, and I'm genuinely unsure if I have a tribe. I've never really felt like I belonged anywhere, like I truly fit in. My partner, who is also my lover and my best friend is the closest I have. When I'm with her, no matter where we are, I feel like I'm home
