Time continues to pass, and I'm considering getting more serious about this whole changing job things. I feel like I should see what opportunities are out there, but it is hard to motivate the search when you are demoralized on such a profound scale. It should be more motivating, but day to day life is hard enough sometimes when you are not adding extra work.

Thanks for your input. I'm not doing it any time within the next few months (besides maybe for practice to keep offline) because I work at a law firm right now, but I won't be there much longer.

And I do understand your blog. What career path are you thinking about taking?

Snowiest January on record. Everyone around me is full of complaints about the snow. I'd like to lodge a complaint against their complaints. The snow is inconvenient yes. It makes some of the routines harder to follow. But doesn't it force us to slow down and pay attention to the world that we live in instead of just rushing through it all? Doesn't it take...

I always get too introspective at New Years. So much emphasis on the passage of time and celebrating the turning of a page. I have a feeling that 2011 might bring with it some big changes, and although, like most of us, I do fear the unknown, but I am also hopeful. I am in a good place right now. I still fight the daily...

Can't decide if I feel better or worse after the 4 mile run with a head cold. I think I mostly just feel off balance.
comixbookgurl:
I would feel worse.

Not looking forward to spending the day crawling around in fiberglass insulation. Re-insulating the floor under the addition room added to our house 20 years before we bought it. I wish they'd insulated it properly the first time.

Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherized upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
The muttering retreats
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels
And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:
Streets that follow like a tedious argument
Of insidious intent
To lead you to an overwhelming question. . .
Oh,...

Haha! He weighed more in Arizona but he's been working out every day, until last weekend when he bruised a rib... he hasn't worked out in about a week. We both lost weight out here, but it's not as noticable with me. smile

How have you been?

School year starts tomorrow. I'm going to miss my mid-morning runs with the dog. It is just to hard to get up and run at 5 am. And by the time I get home at night, I'm just tired enough that it is really hard to find the motivation.

Three days of meetings and "professional development" to get through before the kids come back on...

I don't want to go back to work next week. I'm stuck somewhere between denial and resentment. I know that I should just be thankful to have job these days, but after my worst year ever as a teacher last year, I'd be happy to go back to working in book stores and photography. But the bills aren't as simple as they used to be....

Everything is more difficult in the heat. It isn't even really that bad I guess. High yesterday of 93. But I remember biking to work and playing frisbee in the park at 102 degrees when I lived in Denver. I think this CT humidity is what's got me so grumpy. Even all the computers in the house are deciding to crap out in the heat....

I am embarking on a journey. True Blood, season One, episode One begins in 2 minutes. Is it really as good as people tell me?

About True Blood, I'll put it this way: It's been about three weeks and I have only two episodes left in season one. I would be well into season two if I didn't have to wait for netflix to send them to me.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my set kiss

I can't help but think that different applications require different thicknesses of bread slices for best benefit and enjoyment, thus "the best thing since sliced bread" may actually NOT be a compliment.

mcsweeney:
I've always taken the line to mean that being able to buy your bread pre-sliced was an incredible modern convenience, and the "best thing since" was the next great luxury or landmark of civilization. But I think pre-sliced bread was actually the beginning of our path to laziness.

Thanks! I thought about doing a set when I was 19, I believe (I'll be 25 this year) and still slim and fit. I don't think it's in the cards for me now... I'm afraid too many people I know would find out. For example, I think my brother is a fan of this website.

Has anyone seen the film A Wink and a Smile: the Art of Burlesque? I'm wondering if it is worth ordering from Netflix?

That would be a no for me, sorry frown
