Thank You Heckler!
My account lapsed yesterday, leaving me grey. My super fantastic Hecklepants gave me a wonderful early Christmas present and renewed it for me
So you're stuck with me for a little while longer.
I'll be home for Christmas....
We decorated the Christmas tree today - squeeeeeeeeeee. Last night my mom pulled it out of storage (due to an allergy in the house, artificial suits this house best), and we fluffed it out while watching White Christmas ♥
My mom is very particular about where the lights go (several hours spent hanging several hundred lights on the tree), which ornament goes where and such - I like to put up a few of my favourites and then sit back and watch her rearrange everything.. I giggle at her. This year was nice because I got to sit and chat with my Heckler while she sorted out the ornaments.
Putting on the lights
The finished tree. You can see my very special Timmy Mouse there... he's my absolute favourite ♥
My brothers are recovering from their car accident last Saturday. The one who was driving goes for neurological testing on the 19th to check for potential brain damage (and he has to "take a break from his best girl, Mary, until then" a mighty feat for him). My other brother is still sore from his soft-tissue injuries, but he's okay (grumbly, but okay
).
I visited an art/craft fair this morning, which was awesome. My mom and I bought one another art prints for Christmas, lol. I'll post pics of mine when I can... it's a photograph, printed on canvas of two 12 hour old cygnets - ridiculously cute. There were three other prints in the series, my mom bought me two of them on art cards to frame and flank the main print that I picked. Swans - though rather vicious creatures - are beautiful, and very very special to me... I grew up looking over a nature sanctuary called Swan Lake, and I spent much of my childhood there. It's really a neat gift for me this year, because I'm (finally) returning home after too long away.
Here are some "long lost" pics of our trip to the mountains a few weeks ago. I put in my memory card to load pics of the tree and had completely forgotten these were on there. It was a wonderful romantic day in Banff, Alberta. Most of these pics were taken around there, at the Bow Falls and Two Jack Lake (near Lake Miniwanka). Now, these are from my camera, so the resolution is kinda craptacular... but I still loves them.
