Our Trip
We had sixteen wonderful days it's going to be really hard to get our adventures all down at once - I'm going to kinda break it up day by day and see how it goes. We got to see most of the things that I wanted to show him and loads more. Between our two cameras we have about a gazillion photos, though I'm sure there are a few photos we'll both be posting.
Day One
I waited at the wrong spot for him for about 20 minutes before I realized my mistake
I was there early though, so it was all okay. When I arrived at the international meeting place my cell phone rang - I thought, "He's probably calling me to let me know he's somewhere where I'm not." Nope, local number. "Wtf?" thought I. It was a customs officer requesting my presence down the hall. A rather large man met me with a bunch of questions - who was I expecting? What did I know about him? How long have we known one another? Where did I meet him online? (lol, the guy began to smile as I explained that ) I kept asking if Heckler was okay and if there was a problem, he told me to calm down and that there was no need for shaking. Finally, we were both allowed to go and I met him down the hall.
We were both nervous and still shaking a bit from the debacle with customs to say much at first. We hugged as soon as we were in arms' reach of one another. There was a lot of staring and hand-holding once we got to the car; I don't even know how long we sat there for. We spent two nights at a Super 8 motel, which we didn't leave too often
I won't go into too much detail, but it was that first evening we spent together that I knew that I loved him more in person than I could have possibly imagined. We usually talk every morning on msn - and he makes me happy, we have good conversations and I laugh a lot - but nothing could have prepared me for the feelings that overcame me that day.
Day Two
The zoo was our first "date" - and I think we both had a blast there. I noticed, though, that there are *no* pics of him there
which is all sorts of lame. The highlight for the both of us was probably the stingray touch-tank though - we both got kisses from the rays.
Heckler and I walked hand-in-hand, or with our arms around each other all day that day. It was wonderful. We talked and giggled and stole little kisses every now and again I felt kind of like a teenager - you know when you just can't keep your hands off of one another?
Every time we were in the car, we held hands. It was such a simple thing, but it was so nice.
This was also the day I accidentally crunched into some guy's truck while backing out of a parking space at the hotel. Oops! There was no damage to his bumper, but I knocked out my right tail-light.
Day Three
Mini blizzard - on the morning we're supposed to leave. We loaded up the car in the snow and were on the road by 10am (we waited til the sky cleared up a bit). The drive through the first few hours was gorgeous, but going through the west side of the rocky mountains was snowy and wet and dirty - and I ran out of windshield-washy-fluid. Sigh. Stopping to eat in Golden, BC and to pee a couple times along the way, we made really good time and got all the way to Merrit, BC by 7pm. We ate at a restaurant in a gas station (we're so effing classy
) and then crashed for the night in another Super 8 motel.
Loads more to come
Hope you've all been well. What's new?
