The summer travel season is upon me, although it won't be quite as distant as it was last year, when I went to both Germany and Hawaii. But with the release of SubCulture #1 imminent, I need to get on the convention circuit and peddle a few books in hopes of making some sales.

Anyway, this Thursday I am off to Atlanta to visit some...

Wow! Where does the time go? The last three months arguably have been some of the busiest, most hectic times of my life. Thank the maker school is over and I have a little bit of free time.

I apologize to everyone who I have ignored over the last several weeks. If ya still love me, let me know. I'm going to make a concerted...

Sneak into her suitcase!

What is she doing up here? Where is she staying?
littlefierceone:
Do I know you? How'd you get on my friends list?? wink

I've had the same problem this year with staying power on the ol' SG. Good to see we're both still around.

Hmmm... btw, I think I discovered an SG down your way a couple of weeks ago ... I think. confused

Holy shit...where does the time go?

I must admit, all sorts of things have kept me from being here for quite the while. In fact, this is the longest time I 've been away from SG since I've been a member. I don't really have any good excuses--just a hectic life--so I won't make any. I still love everyone, I promise! wink

Work has been going...

That's all for now?! That's a lot! I'm especially jealous of the Hawaii part, though at least the weather here has finally taken a nice turn. In May I get to go hang out in Chicago for a few days. That should be fun.

P.s. Grad school is grueling, and I'm not having any fun. frown Luckily, it won't be like this forever.

p.s. I am very soory to hear about your sick cat and mother! My mom was still smoking when she was diagnosed with early emphysema. She quit smoking successfully (thank god!) but she acts like she's safe now. confused Well, at least she's better off, but still. I hope I don't have to buy her an iron lung anytime soon!

Get some sun for me.

Had a lovely weekend...a couple of good friends from out of town drove here to the country to spend the weekend here with me and the wife, as it's the last weekend before my birthday. It's always nice to see old friends, especially ones you can cut loose with. We ate out entirely too much--Zaxby's on Friday afternoon, Mexican Friday night, Japanese Saturday night--and there...

Ooo. I like that T-shirt, what store is it from?

The Arsenal game was wonderful. I was very happy with that. smile
pavlovsdog:
Thanks.

The year has been good so far.

Happy Birthday! I'll have a shot for you tonight. Kampai!

I admit it. I'm addicted to Google Earth.

I can't stop searching for shit--I want to see satellite photos of the Taj Mahal, Machu Piccu, the Eiffel Tower, and the Pyramids. I want to see my house, my parents' house, and every house I've ever lived in. I want to see my friends' places. I want to see every football stadium in London. I want...

I'm still here, I promise.

We're back from trips to Alabama and Texas, and school has started as of Monday. I'm sure it will take me a few days to get back into the swing of things, and my voice, being a bit out of practice, means that I'll be hoarse at the end of the day for a couple of weeks or so. Nothing...

I can create one bitchin' bulletin board. Most of my excitement when I'm finally teaching will be setting up my own classroom... sad, but true!

I just hope it isn't a flash in the pan for him, and that MLS starts being seen as a viable place to go from Europe in the transfer market. Then it will become truly viable.

I'm off to Alabama for the annual holiday visit with the in-laws. Everyone have a happy holidays and/or a Merry Christmas (depending on your religion and/or level of political correctness).

Drive safely, and stay out of trouble!

but I like the trouble!

My first five days of Christmas vacation have been so-so. I've slept too late, with the exception of this morning, which perhaps has been my worst night of sleep in years. Tossing and turning, being too hot, a bed-hog cat, and bad dreams all combined to make last night relatively miserable.

It's not all bad news, I promise.

My batteries are recharching, which is nice....

I'm a busy, busy boy, but the light is at the end of the tunnel. Yay for me!

Final exams start this week. I am giving two on Tuesday and one on Friday. Hopefully they all will be graded, and I will have my final exam grades turned into the registrar by Friday afternoon. Fall commencement is Saturday, so I'll go to graduation. Then, assuming...

Hooray! Five days off!

Thanksgiving holiday has officially begun, and I have the rest of the week off. I must admit, I need it. I have a lot of reading to catch up on, and a lot of house upkeep and other errands that I have been ignoring. This should also give me an opportunity to do a little Christmas shopping. Normally I'm pretty good...

Just got back from Wizard World Texas. It was a fun show, which marked the official launching of my comic, SubCulture. While the book won't be available in stores until early April, I did print up some with a second cover that will be sold exclusively at conventions until they run out.

Here is a copy of the regular cover, by indy favorite Jim...
