Goals Short and Long:
I need to deepen my Buddhist practice with study... I have a tiny little book on my night stand called the dhamapada that has daily words of wisdom I want to read from every night, and I have The Lotus Sutra and Its Opening and Closing Sutras which is a super heavy bogged-down kind of read.. which I'm going to attempt at least a page of every morning.
And let's not forget I SHOULD be chanting morning and night to my Gohonzon.. Nam myoho renge kyo!
Wow, I suck at having a routine. I should really figure this whole system out..
I also have a goal to lose weight... it's really hard! The more I try to focus on eating healthy foods with less sugar and carbs the hungrier I am! There has to be a better way... I feel like I'm starving all the damn time and I KNOW I'm not! I would be ecstatic if I could drop 10-15 lbs... Any secrets I should know about? I'm getting too old for the cocaine diet, folks. That isn't an option. Heh. I have to function in the real world while losing weight..
Next week is finals week.. One more day of classes (tomorrow) before it's finals time. Ugh. I am really confident about one class (I got 105% and 100% on my last two tests) but I also have two finals that are going to require some review... probably the day before, since that's what I find works for me. Let's not even get me started on the 12 page all-essay take-home final for my archaeology class. UGH. I enjoy the subject matter, but maaaaaan does that teacher think up tough tests!
Long term... let's see.. I guess I would like to save up for a lyra or some aerial silks.. <3 want want want!
I think Friday a friend is going to give me a new digital camera that's been sitting around.. hopefully it has a timer and I can figure out how to do some self-shot sets for zivity.. start generating income and such.
I am sooooo broke I actually applied at two places for a job.. O.O Ugh. My back injury complicates working in a huge way, and on top of a school schedule it has been almost impossible for me to work this semester. I swore I would never go back to the ramen diet, tho, so it's time to buckle down and truck on through the pain. I like food. A lot. That's why my diet is failing. X.X
My other long term goal is going to be travel.. I deeply desire to explore mesoamerica and south america to visit the ruins of the maya, inca, and aztec. Plus, Cozumel is like riiiiiiiight there. One city definitely on my list is Chichen Itza. Just across the ocean a ways, I also want to visit Thailand. One of my best friends is related to the billionaire lady that owns a shit ton of land around and in Bangkok, and his cousin works for Japan airlines... woop woop! This trip sounds like it's getting cheaper and cheaper the longer we talk about it and think about how to get there for a two or three week visit. Maybe we can even manage to have a day or two lay-over in Japan!
Oh yeah. Right. I'm poor. FUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
Did any of you actually make it through this whole thing? Good gracious.. I better call it an early night and head to bed.

Yeah I don't eat it much either, never really got into the fried icecream thing though, don't know why its pretty good, what about baked Alaska? Lol
I have this problem.. I REALLY enjoy baking... very counter productive to dieting, too. I've resisted the urge, tho. That last dessert I baked was sweet potato casserole.
