The new Rilo Kiley album starts out so strong. And then it becomes a good album. For some reason I was hoping for more. Of course, I'll listen to anything that Jenny Lewis sings on. There are certain singers who are like that (the guy from the Afgan Whigs and the Twilight Singers is another). They could read grocery lists and I'd probably buy them.

I like to visit. But I sure would not want to reside there.

August in California. Probably my last one. It's strange to think that I'll be leaving next summer but that's the nature of it all. When I think about it though when I hit thirty the years started to accelerate. The days are still long though. Funny thing, time.

As long as you got to be the lazy pampered house cat. I'd hate to end up as some rednecks bottle rocket experiment. Eek.

I have nothing to say. I want it to be fall already. If we could just skip September altogether that'd be great...

Thanks for the input!
I'm waiting for fall too. Now that all of the fruits are done, I'm just waiting for the pears and apples to ripen.
This years tomato crop has been disapointing so far and carrots are having issues and almost $2 a pound!

Another month slipping away. Get to September and the year will really be in the rearview mirror. Crazy. I feel I should start planning for New Year's. Maybe go back to New Orleans. Or Montreal. Neither of those would be too expensive. Also two of my favorite cities. I'll have to see what my brothers are doing. Rumor has it one of them is moving...

I managed to resist buying a car this weekend. This is a big deal. I need to make my car last forever. Or at least another year. I can afford a new car but it just seems like a complete waste of money -and I cringe at the thought of a car payment, even one I can afford. Call me crazy.

07.07.07 -and I didn't even buy a lottery ticket. The next two weeks at work are going to be pretty stressful but then August should be calmer. We'll see. I have two new bosses and I can't quite figure them out. It's almost like starting a new job because they're going to run things differently. It's the same office and everything but in some ways...

China is apparently not run by idiots. They're now saying they want to help out in Iraq -how nice of them. The U.S. spends half a trillion dollars occupying Iraq (to say nothing of lives lost) and now China wants to rebuild the oil infrastructure. They get to step in and look like the good guys. No responsibility for the bloodshed and chaos -just a...

Father's Day always makes me a little uneasy. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like having a father growing up. Even before my parents divorce my father wasn't around much. Today I tried to figure out how long it's been since we've spoken. It would have been in the late 80s. I would have been in the ninth grade or so. Around twenty...

Interesting. I've been accepted to the Vacaville group. Now I just have to see if I can be out of the office enough to participate in anything. The summer is looking good actually.

It's a crazy world. I can't believe how random (and often unfair) this life can be. You really have to wonder if it's all just a roll of the dice. I've done nothing to deserve or warrant the good fortune I've enjoyed and I have no explanation for the misery and absurdity I see all around me.

Does anyone have any job satisfaction anymore or...
