So I am back from Cape Town. I was there for the Southern Ink exposure, to be [MEMBER=Talamia's] model/ assistant/ driver/ hopeful recruiting/ friend monkey.
I have to say Cape Town has a whole different of pace of living I could definitely grow accustomed to. It is so very laid back and relaxed. Even the criminals are too stoned and chilled to be effective. One guy lethargically tried to grab [MEMBER=Talamia's] bag without even grasping it properly and almost falling on his face. Capetonians are so chilled they just decided to stop building two bridges in the middle of the city halfway through (fucking awesome view from there) even the streetlights wobble in the wind!
Everything seems a bit surreal and nostalgic. The nostalgia part is due to spending every December holiday in Cape Town with my grandparents for 3 weeks. Since my grandfather is now dead it was really kinda bittersweet to reminisce about some things but didnt put a dampener on the trip.
I learnt two things on this trip, I am a sentimental lame sap
and avocado and mint milkshakes are not revolting!
Continuing on in this spirit of adventure, Talamia and I decided to Zen drive around a bit. When we really starting to despair of finding our way back we decided to follow a cop around. Eventually he got freaked out and abandoned us, shame on him. Luckily we did find our way home.. Eventually!
Another highlight of this trip was Vaudeville, a show that can only be describes as a naughty cirque du soleil (silentwhisper, I think you might enjoy that description
). I may just run away to Cape Town and join the show! If I vanish you know where I have gone- I will be between the thighs of some buff Chilean acrobat
My only regret with this trip is not getting a new tat but there literally was no time. A week is way too short for a holiday!
