So it was back to a brief stint of early wakeups this morning as I'm filling in mornings. This amazing hotel that doesn't even have an ice machine also doesn't bother to plow their driveway until sunrise apparently. But for those of us who have the luxury of four-wheel drive, that's never a problem. Heh. Five minutes of being stuck on a ledge of snow...

So begins the third week for me in Maine, and another snowstorm is knocking on the door. It seems I just can't shake that perpetual snow cloud over my head. The upside to that is I'm back on the slopes in a couple of weeks... I've got an appearance scheduled all the way up at Saddleback, an area I've always wanted to check out but...

Some people are true anuses. (anii?) Take for instance my landlord-to-be, or so I thought. He went away for a week, which prevented me from physically delivering him a deposit check. I checked in with him a few days ago about the apartment. "Sure, we'll talk when I get back!" All is well right? So he gets back, says, "well, that apartments not available anymore,...

Well, all my clothes (the ones I brought with me) are in the washing machine, and after that's taken care of, it's pop-into-work-for-half-an-hour and then back to New Hampshire, one last time. Gotta clean out the old apartment, take the remaining few items, drop my apartment keys off at the landlords, and say good-bye to the Upper Valley, thus officially closing a nearly six-year chapter...

So, day one at work went well. Err, 'cept for my car not starting downtown in the Public Market parking garage. Good thing I have a jumpstart kit. Plugged in to the wall, charging back in NH, mind you, with my last load of stuff. Due to the amount of accidents and such in Monday night's storm, I had to freeze my nuts off for...

Welcome to Maine... The Way Life Should Be.

Today marks day one of the new job and as a Mainer! Technically I'm still a NHer, seeing as how I still have my apartment til the end of the month and still have a handful of things to move out of there. I'm doing the hotel (errm, economy efficiency suite) thing through the end of the...

In the sun, it's 50 degrees and it feels so liberating. Too bad the only CD I had in my car for the ride home was My Bloody Valentine's "Isn't Anything." Great album but not made for sunny daytime listening.

So it's Friday, the weekend is just about here for me, and I'm going to arm myself with dozens of trash bags and start plucking...

Tapes!! I used to make so many mix tapes I have a big plastic box full of them in my storage unit. I still go in there to find some stuff I never got on CD, like Public Enemy! I like "Fear of a Black Planet" and listened to it all the time in High School. It is nostalgic for me so I dig it out and rock out! I say, keep them if you wanna! smile

I just slept for sixteen hours! eeek I'm not sick, I was no more fatigued than I usually would be after the end of a long week, it just sort of... happened. On the couch watching CNN no less whatever

Now sitting here with strong coffee, extreme bed head and George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" filling the room, an all-time fave of mine.

How was your...

I love 16 hour sleep days. They are my favorites. I would sleep my life away if I could.. it's just so damn peaceful.

I like your new profile picture. Finished at the station completely now? I know that when I was leaving, there was a transition period. It took me forever to quit....

It's nearly a year now. I still have a key. smile
