Sheesh it is cold where you are. Come down to Texas.

Come down to Texas
It's an interesting accident of geography that if I were to go less than 60 miles east, and then due south 1500 miles, I would end up in Dallas Texas. The marker for the Geographic Center of North America is about 3 miles west of the city limits here, and the master marker used as the measuring baseline is determining the entire Canada / US border ("The Master Survey") is a particular tree about 20-ish minutes north of where I live.
Winnipeg is kind of nice -- but it is a bit isolated. The closest "big city" is Minneapolis, which is 450 miles away -- you could fit a few European countries between here and there. And if (like me) you don't happen to drive, there is exactly one bus per day heading to Minneapolis, and it's about an 11 hour bus trip. Faster and easier to fly (and not much more expensive, especially if you value your time.)
