I had a lead on a place with a girl asking $800/month. I told her that was out of my price range, so she said she'd be willing to take $600/month. She said that the other people that have looked at her place have all been kind of... weird... and I seem "refreshingly normal", so she wants me to be able to afford it. $600 the same as the other place I'm looking at.
So, tomorrow at 9am (ugh) I look at the second place. It's just a girl by herself, she has a personality like mine, quiet and reserved. She spends evenings at home most of the time. She has two cats. She also has a horse so sometimes she'd be out at the barn. Yep, a horse.
It's probably going to be hard for me to decide which place to choose. I called a few other people about rooms, they were cheaper, but they didn't sound promising at all. So I might just be looking only at these two places. But it will be hard because I'll have to say no to one of them. That will be hard for me because both of them have said how hard it is to find the right person to rent their room. However, the mother of the family did say that another girl, a Chinese exchange student, was considering their room, though they said she wasn't too definite about it.
I'm leaning towards this second place with the girl by herself. Honestly I'd feel weird living with a family. And the family doesn't have high speed internet, though as I said I could do something special for them and hook them all up on my account. The girl already has high speed internet, and since utilities are included I guess it would just come out of my rent.
Another benefit with the girl by herself is she'd be giving me two rooms, a bedroom and an office. They're both small, but there's two of them. And from what she says in her profile on roommates.com it sounds like she has more storage than I'd have with the family. But we'll see what I think after tomorrow morning seeing the other girl's place.
I'm excited. I really really want to move out and live on my own. Yesterday I was getting pretty nervous about the idea but I think I feel better having two places to look at now. The girl by herself sounds like a perfect match for me. I want it to work out.

Well if you marry me then that settles your housing issue right there. You'll fit comfortably in our king sized bed as long at you don't thrash around too much.
