I'm looking at a place that's going for $600/month. We visited it tonight. It's wonderful. It's a single family home, a mother, father and daughter. They are so nice. The father was working but I'm meeting them again Sunday morning. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and beautiful. It's a gorgeous house. I'd be living in a room in the upstairs by myself, the washer/dryer is right across the hall and the full bathroom (with an actual bath, not just a shower) is right next to it.
The guest bedroom is right next to the bedroom where I'd be living, and the grandmother is going to be visiting a few months from now living in there. I guess that's a bit of a drawback. Another drawback: no high speed internet. However, I may be able to do something awesome for them if I end up moving in: they told me Verizon recently laid down new DSL lines in the neighborhood. I could probably just call Verizon and have them switch my DSL from here to their house, and I could hook up the whole family with DSL on my account. They were saying how it's a problem that high speed internet is so expensive... well if I did that, we could split the cost and it would be cheaper for both of us.
Now, this is the first place I've looked at. I don't really have any other places lined up but I'm going to try calling the other four places again and see if I can get an answer. I know I shouldn't go with the first place, but man, it's like I hit the jackpot. I would love to live there. Mom and I were pretty much both dazzled.
OH OH! So I finished my Zelda Minish Cap walkthrough the other morning! This is quite exciting because I NEVER finish my walkthroughs. I always get intimidated by the thought of going through the final dungeon again and just don't do it. This time, with save states and someone else's walkthrough on my side, I blasted through Dark Hyrule Castle and kicked Vaati to the curb. And now, you can too. HURRAH
AND today I discovered a Unix utility that adds line breaks to text files. None of my walkthroughs had line breaks so they always displayed badly in browsers. The lines would just go on forever and ever. Now I've added line breaks to a few of my walkthroughs. HURRAH
Oh and I got my SG DVD the other day. Who knows when I'll actually watch it. I'm notoriously slow using/watching/listening to new things. I actually had Annie's album on my computer for months before I started to really listen to it back around the end of June. Believe it or not. All those months of potential fandom... wasted
And I had Saint Etienne's new record Tales From Turnpike House for weeks before I gave it a listen.
For most things I wait so long because I fear disappointment. For the SG DVD however, I'm a bit intimidated. This is as close to video porn as I've ever been. I know, deep down, that it's gonna be a riot. But it's also going to be pretty hot. I find that intimidating.
Meh, anyway I'm nervous about the moving thing so I don't feel like saying much more. And it's the weekend so people aren't around to read this. It's like I'm talking to air... blah blah blah. Just kidding Have fun people.
