Ok chess peeps, just so you know, it's going to take me at least a week or two before I'm ready to play. Sorry to make y'all wait, but if you played me now I wouldn't remember how to move the pieces and stuff blackeyed

Speaking of games and puzzles, here are the $50 worth of games and puzzles I bought at Beany's in Rehoboth Beach (Delaware) on Friday.

From top to bottom left to right you've got Rush Hour, a 15 slide puzzle, two wood block puzzles I haven't tried yet, some extra cars for Rush Hour and a couple extra cards that came with it, your standard Bicycle deck of cards, a disassembled wood block puzzle that I have yet to figure out how to put back together, and Chess Basics by Nigel Short.

I said more stuff about the stuff in the puzzles group. I'll probably repeat what I said there in my journal tomorrow because this entry is already way too long as it is. The bulk of this entry is spoilered, but still, I've yapped enough for one entry.

Inside the following spoiler is an MS Paint drawing, a note that I've updated my Annie pics folder, a fun coincidence, a picture of a concert ticket, and some discussion of my fan site and the work I did on it today. All Annie-related. Feel free not to bother reading it.

Tomorrow you get to hear my feelings about SG and what the future holds for Crux eeek Dun dun DUNNNNN! Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I added a bunch of pics to my Annie pics folder (most from the official photo gallery). The captions are pretty funny because I was in a wacky mood after all that work on the fan page last night. My absolute favorite is this one. Hahahahaha. Such an obvious joke but it still makes me laugh heartily. biggrin biggrin biggrin

Now look at this.

This is me being a fake DJ.

This is Annie being a REAL DJ.

Look at the discs in these photos. Both red label Polydor. Fun coincidence huh? I got all excited when I noticed that last night. You gotta admit that is pretty cool.

So the UPS package they had been trying to deliver, as I eventually realized earlier before they delivered it, was my ticket to see Annie, which is now taped to the bottom of my monitor in the bright green envelope it came in. The funny thing is, the main act is actually Röyksopp, another Norwegian music act. So on the ticket it says RÖYKSOPP in huge letters and "Annie" in really tiny letters underneath as you can see. Will I sit through Röyksopp after Annie opens the show? Time will tell. Who knows, maybe I'll like their music. They did a remix of Annie's song Heartbeat and if I recall correctly it was pretty good. HMMMM

Note the fees. I would've paid a lot less for the ticket if I had gone through will call... but I don't trust will call. I want to be clutching the ticket firmly in my fist so I won't be turned away at the door.

It's funny that being a fan of Annie I finally learned how to spell "Norwegian" correctly. It's so simple but I just couldn't get it right before. Duhhhh.

Okay so I worked for several hours today on the FAQ, and I made a frame-based version. I was feeling pretty bad about it (i.e. "this is reeeeally ugly") until I looked at the björk.com about&about section, which looks essentially just like what I did, only without the uglifying mistakes, and with just a couple nice visual things. I can do that. I don't want to rip off björk.com, but I made my ugly FAQ without even having looked at that section. They seriously do the same things visually, only the björk.com one does it better.

I sort of know the girl who designs björk.com, Lina Hansson (go visit her site, she rocks). Some years ago she started her own Björk fan site. She has MAD design skills. She draws, does photography, makes accessories (I own one of her bags, picture soon perhaps) and she is a cracking good web designer. So she made this fan site however many years ago... and I don't know the whole story but Björk's people must have contacted her or something, because her fan site got absorbed into the official site and she was picked up to be one of the main staff of the official site.

2 + 2 = ?

I don't really have ambitions to be "picked up" by Annie's people or whatever, but it's obviously on my mind because of what happened with Lina's fan site. It really is quite an honor. But honestly, with my lack of design skills I seriously doubt that I'd be picked up to work for Annie's official site. Sure, it would be great, but even I'm realistic about that.

I just want to make a fan site that people can use and enjoy, and maybe Annie will see and like. She already saw the lyrics page, so who knows, whenever I'm "done" enough with the site that I can announce it on the official forum, maybe she'll see it too.

Now I'm in a right state from having gotten both into programming mode and into fangirl mode, so I need to stop here and wait until tomorrow to say other stuff. Good night.

seriously I look so wrong if I don't shave ... still so patchy it isn't funny although I guess I should be thankful as it is probably related to my genetics of being a largerly non hairy guy.
