I had a GREAT time at the amusement park with the SGVA people. Since I am EXHAUSTED here is a brief summary.
- The drive there: HARROWING and STRESSFUL
- The rides: SCARY but not nauseating. They did produce some genuine screams from me though. And there was the matter of me nearly getting three concussions from NoControl's shoulder, but that is for a later update.
- The people: SO NICE. I was really put at ease by everyone there. NoControl, Cheech, KaraLynn, Dierdre, bredoteau, Tigerwong, Fatality, Capital, Day, Night, Jayde... who am I forgetting? There is one fellow whose name I didn't catch (neither his real nor his SG name). And I think there's someone else I'm forgetting. There was also an ex-member and her fiance... I think? Correct me somebody?
I listened to Annie's album almost 8 times today, about 4 on the way down and 4 on the way back, and I'm listening to it again now! Sadly I am way too exhausted to dance or sing along. I will be going to bed really soon.
As soon as pictures from the trip surface I will post them here! You get to see our gigantic group picture, and me with sweaty hat hair posing with a few others in a wood cut-out of the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine van!

Re: St. Et again...I believe that Travel Edition is a US-only singles compilation. It's nowhere near as comprehensive as Smash the System but then again, it leaves out a lot of the remix-type filler and whatnot. I have not heard the latest album (although I'm downloading it as we speak), but I thought Finisterre was great. I know a lot of SE purists are disappointed with the shift to more of an electronica sound, but I honestly think the old Casio-and-drum machine sound was getting a little dated. I won't say that I love everything they've ever done, because I usually think about 20% of every album is fairly dull, but good stuff is always REALLY good which makes it all worthwhile.
Oh...I think the other person you left out was hafu, who appears to have gone grey for some reason.
God, I look so fat in all of these pictures. Bleh.
