I managed to survive my first major mountain bike race with little to no injuries. Had a couple minor crashes but escaped with only some bruises and scratches. I finished in last place in my category but I'm so incredibly proud of myself for just finishing the race. I'm sure there will be more races in my future once I become a better rider. It was a really great experience even though I was so nervous on my first stage I was having trouble gripping the handlebars! Everyone was so supportive of me and I'm so glad I finished the race instead of chickening out like I was debating before hand.
