NEGATIVE!!! These days, is there any better word in the English language?

Yesterday I got woke at about 6AM with a bit knot in my stomach, worried about the results from my blood test. I came in the lab, worked half-heartedly for a while, and then finally just went to student health, 3 hours before my appointment.

I got there, all nervous, and as I...

I'm so happy for you!!!

(on all counts)

Okay, the late grant thing sucks, but at least you got an extension.

Good luck with "V". I kind of like that nickname anyway. smile

Good luck on the grant front. Just being willing to go through with all that paperwork puts you leaps ahead of most people. Congrats on the date, too . smile

Nice response in the Feminism vs. Masochism thread.

Getting my entry in a little early tonight.

The shift towards a normal schedule is happening very very slowly... but it's happening. I got to bed at 2 last night and got up at 9:30. My grant needs to be out the door, on the Fedex truck Thursday night, so this is (hopefully) my last night of toiling away on it. I'll then be free...

Wow...the psychic breakup. I haven't used that one in a good 10 years or so....yeah eighth grade is about right. Ha!

...drinking in bars = good for those cold winter nights. biggrin

Oh... right... you asked about my holiday plans...

I'm going to a Yule party on the 20th, and then up north for Christmas Eve. Then it's back downstate for Christmas Day and a birthday party on the 26th. Then across the state to come home.

The next week I'm back across the state for New Year's, and then back home to start school on 4 January, and then back over there again for my birthday on 9 January.

biggrin

Another midnight ramble. Here we go...

Today was kind of an odd day. I'm trying to shift my schedule back to normal after going to bed at 4:30 am and getting up almost at noon. It was not helping my life in the lab. So I got myself out of bed at 10am (how pathetic that I pat myself on the back for that?) and...

I hope everything turns out okay.

When I was at my parents' for Thanksgiving, I woke up to a snow-covered landscape. I ran to the window and yelled, "Snow!!! Oh my god... it's so PRETTY!!!"

My dad laughed a little, and it proved that I'm still a five-year old at heart. There's nothing wrong with that, so you're welcome to grab me someday and yell, "Snow!!!"

Just make sure it isn't in June. That would make you seem a bit loopy...

Let me start out by giving shout-outs to teclo, D and IrishLibra, it was really cool to only be here for two days and already have some people leaving comments. Thanks!

I had an interesting experience today. My lab has a weekly meeting, it's actually a joint meeting between two labs, the heads of which are my respective thesis advisors. THere aren't that...

that is interesting (finding aspects of other people which you dislike, which, through self reflection, are really just qualities you dislike in yourself), i was thinking the same thing when choosing friends.

as in :::
you're close to someone and you think "gee, this person is quite needy" you do some self reflection, and "hey, i'm pretty damn needy too."
it sounds bitchy, but mainly, i use those sorts of epiphanies to change aspects about myself which i dislike.

it's tons of fun.
and thanks for the "shoutout" ... rock on.

+++
edited to say :::
i got hungry and ended up eating leftovers and going for a walk later on to see some friends, who didn't have any coffee, but it was too late for the coffeeshop anyway.

Sunday afternoon, waking up at 1:30 and deciding to skip the gym. I'll leave it until tomorrow. I had my customary Sunday bacon/egg/cheese sandwich, and had the good fortune to walk by a brand-new Hummer H2 on the way to the store and spit on it. That always makes me feel a lot better.

oh, i know we'll see him again.
he is the boyfriend's beer brewing buddy. he is an active participant in ubergeeknight. he will be watching our house while we are gone.

but still, i won't be able to phone next door on a wednesday, and say "heya, i've got a fresh pot of coffee, and leftover dinner. get over here." anymore.

it probably came across more melodramatic than it is.

This is my first journal entry, so I'll keep it brief, as I'm likely to have longer, rambling entries in the future.

I've just recently returned from rural Pennsylvania, where I spent my Thanksgiving with my white trash, dysfunctional family, my Republican uncle and my bald, womanizing cousin.

Back to New York city, where things supposedly make sense, only to have the woman who I...
