Nice drawings. I was going through your pics - was that a Pixies show on the 26th or the early show on the 27th?

Well, new hair, new glasses called for a new profile pic. Shall I keep this one or change it back to the blue room? I like them both, so I'll leave it up to y'all.

I have a job at a salon, people!!! I begin October 1, assuming I'm licensed by then. It's on SE Stark on the corner of 13th in the Buckman Neighborhood....

I've applied twice for the group and keep getting rejected, being told (in an automated message) that either a similiar group already exists or it does not fit into Suicidegirls.

I'm going to look at the other zodiac sign groups, what they say, and later this week apply once again for a Pisces group (and if rejected for a third time, try and find someone I can e-mail to ask a few questions regarding how there is a similar group to Pisces).

wish me luck in this!

They do indeed have bad eyesight. But Ollie hasn't bitten me. He just treats me like a tree and runs around my body leaving bloody scratches all over me.
Wouldn't be so bad if it were a lady...heck...right now I'd settle for a female squirrle. whatever

Friday night, third weekend in a row where I am home with my adorable daughter because the dad flaked on her. He chose to gig instead of take her these last 2 weekends. Poor bebe. BUT we're having girls' night in with "Escape from Witch Mountain" , popcorn, and a bike ride. We just saw "Escape TO..." last week, and she's hooked.

I'm feeling like...

I don't sew , but I did have a few fruit trees on my property ... apples , pears , and plums . I live on a 200 plus year old farm that I scored at a bankruptcy auction last summer , the fruit trees had not been topped or pruned in years so I cut them down , I only had tomatoes and some herbs for a garden this year .

I haven't been creating enough. I need to paint again. I need my big aluminum tripod easel and my man-eating sized canvases again. I need the big pots of acrylics again. I need the clock to stop ticking so I can paint time again.

I want to go see Madness, too. I want to take my daughter to the show. I think it will be...

You Are Like Dust
~For my vanishing friend

Like dust
Your absent presence

The dust is comfort
Like life well lived
What once was valued
Now non-existent

Yes I still trace you
Touching your remnants
In melancholy
Although you warned me

Like dust
Worn by antiques

Afraid to clean them
To purge the value
Of reminiscence
From Russian lacquer

A silted snake path
Of fingers...

Umm. . . I think I owe you one.
We'll figure it out at the next event, if the music's good. smile

I like some of the imagery above. I do some of that too. Here's a poem I posted a couple of months ago: Confessional
I am always open to give and get critique at whatever level.

My ex thinks since I'm the only one that called him on it, that it's not a problem for him to show up at his daughter's 7th birthday party reeking of last night's booze.

"I'm not drunk today - don't be so dramatic."

Can I plead insanity for murder because it's close to 200 degrees outside?

And I had a nightmare for the first time in - I don't know - a year? Or months? Or 2 years? And it was disappointing because it wasn't irrational-scary, it was me behaving in a juvenile, retaliatory way. I wound up waking up disappointed in myself.

And now I'm fucking hot....

Yeah, but I bet it's a dry heat.

Here, the heat is wrapped in an overcoat of humidity, making you feel like you're breathing through wet cotton.

Fascinating poem...as always, several lines are simply striking, amazing.

biggrin SHE DID IT!!!!!!! My little girl is riding a bike! biggrin

*proud mommy*

biggrin

I took her out to the track at the local college (in 92 degree heat, #$%Q$^#$) and said "I'm not waiting for her dad to teach her any longer. I'm doing it!!"

After 15 minutes of coaching she was off!! We rode together around that track for 2 hours!!! I am so proud...

Good stuff! I remember learning to ride my bike when I was 7 so she isn't the oldest kid ever hehe. The real pros never had training wheels. eeek
paolodesade:
Nice bike, I think I had the boys version of that when I was a kid, but I can't find any pictures of me riding to comfirm. I miss that bannana seat, I used to ride my girl all around town on that bike, 3rd or 4th grade. She would wrap her arms around my waist and snuggle her head into the back of my neck and we would ride out to the woods and sit by the creek and kiss and hold hands untill it was time to take her back home for dinner.

Good times...

Okay, the interview results:

I went, had the interview at the salon for the 'Salon Coordinator' position (I can't style until I graduate), but they did not tell me at the time that it was evenings they needed to fill. I can't do that because I need to be home for my daughter. HOWEVER, they are going to be filling an apprenticeship position in 4-5...
