So, I went to Ann Arbor yesterday to pick up my artwork from Sweetwater. Got to talk with Anna (my contact from the whole Matrix/Sweetwater experience), she's so cute, I've only had about 5 conversations with her and I love her to death, she's so undecisive and cute.......
She was all flu-ed up and I felt bad dragging her away from her sick bed... I'll probably get it now.
All well, I'm due for being sick anyway.
She originally had put about 70 price fliers up for my work and they were all gone. So, at least 70 people saw and liked the show, that's good. I didn't sell anything, but that doesn't mean I won't. A 2 month long exhibition is just not long enough for people to make up their minds on purchasing art, although I have had people walk in and take a look at a piece and then by it off me right then and there. It's rare, but it happens. We can only hope that I'll get some procrastinators wanting to buy when they go back in and see the work is gone, it's happened before. I gave Anna one of my Eidolons to thank her for paying for a parking ticket for me. She didn't want to take it, but I insisted. I wanted her to have one, she liked them so much and she did me a favor. I'm not ususally in the habit of giving away my work (SO DON'T ASK!) but, sadly, I didn't have the cash to repay her. That's good, she'll remember me now.
I went to Dawn Treader when I was down their, my favorite used book store, and found some goodies. I picked up Chuck Palahniuk's "Invisible Monsters", Robert Jordan's "The Eye of the World", and Mickey Zucker Reichert's "The Legend of Nightfall." I was geeked. I haven't read any of these authors yet, but I've been looking for Palahniuk and Reichert for a while, and I started getting interested in Jordan listening to the fantasy group talk about it. (Join the Fantasy group! We need more people.) So, I'm excited. Books... my weakness, my seducer, how you toy with my emotions
So, I drove over 100 miles yesterday with my "Service Engine Soon" boy-who-cried-wolf light on my car. It kept flashing on and off periodically. In my car that means some meaningless sensor has gone out, or I needed an oil change (Which I did!). So I just went and had the oil changed and now it seems fine. I can't afford to do anything more than that right now, so , we'll just have to hope that's all it was. Damn cars.... Nuisances. Why can't we go back to the days of walking every where?
What you do this weekend? Anything fun?
