Oooooooh, I am being sooooo bad! I'm not studying! I have an entomology lab practical, and I have to turn in 5 correctly pinned specimens complete with name, location and ecological labels and I can't find my freaking labels!!!

And somehow, I just barely care.

Entomology! How much fun!! I am taking "Operations Management" right now and want to kill myself I am so bored with it.
aksiokersa:
Ha ha! I'm with ya, chica. They can only push me so far before I put my fingers in my ears and start humming "Where is my mind." It actually goes the other way with me too - I do worst in the classes that are easiest. I'm still struggling with my cultural anthro class. I think it's because the prof is such an extreme relativist. But slowly, I'm realizing that most of the readings offer well-tempered insights. It's the dumbasses that misinterpret Boas, Mead, and Malinowski that are the problem!

Hello! Bonjour! Como estas? ok, my bilingualisms only go so far. Boston was fabulous as usual. Hot and humid the first two days, rainy the third, and freezing the day I came home.

Still and all I had a great visit. My pregnant cousin is adorable and huge, and beginning to waddle! biggrin And I am refreshed! It was a much needed trip. I got walking...

The only reason I'm so mad is that I know there are many redeeming aspects of cultural anthropology that I am missing out on just because the cultural anthropologists in my class are allowed to be lazy thinkers. I gave a presentation on the life and contributions of Franz Boas today, and so many people just took relativism as a way out of having to think critically about the world that I got very frustrated. In particular, their refusal to acknowledge that Boas was actually arguing for a more logical and reliable methodology was infuriating. frown Too bad there are no kitschys in my class frown

Sorry for grossing everyone out with my last journal entry, but I like to share my life with you...for better or worse!

Anywho, I had a super-duper good day today! It rocked. Or rather, I ROCKED! Like a hurricane. I aced (or hopefully pretty damn close) two tests today. Studying for a whole weekend pays off sometimes! smile

I had a small epiphany today on the way home from work that I was making myself crazy because I was all caught up in "doing it RIGHT" all of the time. Everything had to be right. Perfect. So somewhere along the line I stopped having fun and letting go.

Sometimes you gotta take a breath and realize its not all that serious, and you...

God I hope so. I'm sick and tired of this piping hot, 90-degree feels-like-summer crap. Bring on the football weather!

According to my permaculture teacher, today is the vernal equinox (beginning of fall), and all forces are in harmonious balance. Why then, do I just want to fall over, crawl under a rock and got to sleep for a very, very long time? Lately it seems like everyday is just a little harder to get through than the last.

Ok...we definitely need to hang out. I'll call you closer to Wed. but I think going some place cheap would be good.

I don't really like going to the doctor or dentist. I had one in Alabama that was SOOOOO nice I know I'll never find another guy like him here. I'm almost willing to drive a few miles to find the right dentist.
