Of all people.
The person that finally raised a smile on my face this morning is my ex-director.
For about 2 years, at the beginning of my time in Ipsos, I could barely stand her & she couldnt figure out what to make of me. It was pretty tense.
Later on, as we probably both grew up (shes one or two years older than me), it became easier to speak to her and I even helped her on side-projects, basically verifying French essays she had written for a business course she was on. It was fun, we had some laughs and we started to see each other in a very different light.
She left the company at the beginning of July because she found another job (probably better paid than Ipsos, not too hard, really, but also closer to where she lives). I felt sad about not having her around anymore, but happy for her all the same.
She got married at the end of July and shes just sent me an email now that shes back to work, after her honeymoon & all that.
Ill always remember that after one appraisal I told her: its a shame youre my boss because it means well never be friends to which she had replied its a depressing thought indeed. Now shes not my boss anymore and I hope well keep in touch.
I truly wish her all the best. Its good to know that some good people are happy on this planet.
Me? I'm stuck in a never-ending queue on the road to happiness. This drives me mad at times... and very sad too.
I am strong but it's draining me.
Much
to you

As for that queue, yeah it is a frustrating one but you will get there in the end, I find you have to remember to keep an eye open for the little bursts a long the way too!!
