Main Entry: reify
Pronunciation: 'rA-&-"fI, 'rE-
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): reified; reifying
Etymology: Latin res thing --
: to regard (something abstract) as a material or concrete thing
Note to self:
In order to avoid harming the self, one should take constant care not to let emotions take over non-conceptual mental cognition. Most often than not, human beings suffer destructive emotions by subconsciously allowing them to be part of their very being. The act of reifying emotions is not only dangerous; it can also be the greatest cause of grief by severely distorting reality and in some cases, by making you believe that you are someone youre not.
Please excuse me while I keep talking to myself. I am currently learning very interesting things that I wish I had known earlier. Then again, maybe then wouldnt have been the right time.
I believe that its all part of an ongoing process. One of the most common mistakes is to be impatient. You need to go through failure, doubt, loss & grief to finally be able to rise above it. Im not there yet; I am still quite far from understanding, mastering & finally getting rid of my self-destructive side. But its worth it because every day brings me a step closer to a more serene soul.
from me, I hope youre all doing good.
Tell me what you want to do this week.
