Hey lovelies,
It's been over a week since my last blog and it has been full of it's ups and downs.
Those who follow me on my Instagram account _KETTLE will have seen posts over the last week with what has been going on but for those who don't here's what happened.
Just over two weeks ago now I had to rush my nearly 12 year old dog to the vet when I realized something was wrong with her mouth. She had emergency surgery that Monday and the Vet removed a rather large lump from under her tongue. The lump got sent off for a biopsy and the results are devastating. It's a Mass Cell Tumor.
Cancer.
The vet was unable to remove a healthy margin of tissue from around the lump and it's most likely there are Cancer cells still there and will spread.
Having to make adult decisions is really hard.
Now it's a matter of waiting to see where her health goes.
A few days after that happened I got a phone call from my brother to say one of my birds had been sitting on the bottom of her cage. I had to ring 4 vets before I found one that took in a lot of birds. A day off work, a 40 minute drive and another emergency vet visit.
I've got videos and pictures of my Pops birds on my Instagram. They're special to me <3 After my Pop passed in December last year I took in his two Cockatiels. They both whistle like him and make tunes so sweet, it's my last connection to him and the thought of one passing had my heart jumping.
The vet diagnosed my little Fatso with Led Poisoning. He gave her a 50/50 chance of living.
She stayed in the veterinary hospital for 7 days before I pulled her out, my other bird Charlie going absolutely crazy not having her at home.
She went in weighing only 83grams and came out weighing 89grams. A solid little fighter who is still the worlds biggest smoocher.
My Nan hasn't been back to Tamworth since my Pop passed so driving her up there for the Easter long weekend was an emotional one. The house and property was visibly missing his presence and it broke my heart to walk the grounds and see some of his tools laying around, ready for him to pick up the next day and use.
Going through his things was hard, I spent most of my time out on the motorbike in the paddocks checking on his cattle and playing with the horses that are on agistment there. I'm a sucker for horse snuggles :)
All in all it was a very emotional couple of weeks.
How was everyone's Easter? Did you all get spoiled with some chocolaty goodness?
