So I've been back from Thailand for a few days and I'm having trouble thinking what to write about it.

First off, I have to report that I saw a place called "Wang Come Hotel."

What did we do there? Part of the tour consisted of seeing ancient temples and palaces. Another part was seeing products of Thailand. We went to factories making paper, tea, silver, gold, jade, teak furniture, lacquerware, ceramics, and a pineapple plantation.

Impressions I got from Thailand: The fruit is excellent, especially the pineapples, oranges, and bananas. The country is bustling; there was a lot of infrastructure being built. I was impressed by how many different crops are grown. I think that Buddhism and the monarchy give people a great sense of security. I think that this makes labor cheap and willing and makes it so the people don't feel the need to work all day. The people were friendly and accepting.

I didn't patronize the Starbucks that I saw, but I looked at the prices. A latte cost about $1.50 US, but if you look at relative buying power between our peoples, it would be as if they cost $6 here.

OK, so there was a guy on our tour who made me wonder, why is it that I ping on the gaydar of forty year old closeted predator types? It's not the first time, and I assume it's not the last.

On another note, my company is trying to cut costs, and I offered to cut my work schedule down to about three days per month. I'll make a little bit of money, but most important, I get some freedom to work on personal projects, catch up with friends, brew some beer, and maybe travel a bit.

Whoa, I'm jealous! You went to Thailand? I've always wanted to go... And, yes, yes, you're right. I am just in limbo I guess, hehe. That wasn't what I was referring to, but it works too.
