My sister caught a "hamster"
so, sis was taking out the trash and saw a hamster running in the street, she didn't want it to get hit or eaten so she took off her sweatshirt to trap it and brought it inside. She called me and thought the hamster was REALLY pissed off, she gave it cherrios and water and was telling me it had an 1/1.5 inch long tail and really messed up long teeth. I asked her to send me a pic, PRETTY sure its some sort of gopher, vole, mole, or mouse lol. PRICELESS
note the very unhamster like feet

these were my best guesses from my north american wildlife book
gopher (kinda small for that though, but the feet are an exact match)

vole

mouse and another vole

i know SOMEONE on here can solve the mystery and identify this rodent.
god damn i love my sister
p.s.i bet my nephew is pissed, he really wants a hamster lol, a real one that is

I caught a cute little feller just like that once - or rather, he caught me. I tried to quietly grab a little guy who was sitting under a table at the club where I worked. He bit into the end of my index finger and I couldn't pull or shake him off. I had to submerge him and my hand in a sink filled with cold water to finally get him to let go. He was fine - we scooped him up and put him back outside where he belonged. That was the end of my rodent catching, or keeping, days...
