Bought a groupon earlier this year for 5 movie tickets to my fave chain of neighborhood movie theaters...then of course waited until about two weeks before it ran out before I started watching any. Now I've seen Woody Allen's "Blue Jasmine", a very cute Indian movie called "The Lunchbox", the new Coen Brothers film "Inside Llewyn Davis", and "The way way back"...

Ah, what did you think about The Way Way back? It was good but not as great as The Descendants. I've been wanting to see Blue Jasmine and Insider Llewyn Davis. Just can't seem to find any of them around where I live.
kaicito:
Loved The Way Way Back...not having seen The Descendants (that's with Clooney, right? I'll check it out on your recommendation). Llewyn Davis was...meh, not bad, but I don't get all that Coen brothers hype.

Have any of you ever floated, I mean on water with high salt content like in the Dead Sea? Here in Berlin, last year several studios opened where you can experience the sensation of floating, with (or without) psychedelic lighting and ethereal music. Some of these places, you're kind of locked into a capsule-like thing, which is a bit too claustrophobic for me. But today,...

Have you ever seen the movie Altered States?
kaicito:
If you were talking to me (not Trebble): No I haven't... I'll have to check it out.

...and I believe that's a line from a Dean Martin song. See, I totally abstained from wine these past few days, even as I was stressed out and sorely in need of a glass, or two...or three, just because I was going for a medical checkup today and didn't want to mess up the results ("Ummm, do you, by any chance, drink alcohol on a...

In just about 46 hours, I'll be stepping out in front of a Chamber of Commerce audience and deliver a short speech, then participate in a roundtable discussion.. only I'm a major procrastinator and all I have so far is a handful of unstructured notes. Oh well, 46 hours, that's almost two days, right? I can still swing it. Or maybe I'll get good and...

I agree wholeheartedly. This is probably the only day in a year I allow myself to dwell on things and to think about the past. I'm all for forgiveness and future, though I know that lessons need to be learned and that history mustn't be forgotten. But it is indeed history, and it is behind me. I hold no hatred in my heart, maybe just a tiny bit of anger every now and then. Kittens and chocolate help, though. ;)

Gosh, incredible how time just races by! When I last blogged here, I was fresh off a sunny Italian vacation, now it's grey, wet and cold around here. I like Fall, mind you, it's one of my favorite seasons (the others being Spring, Summer and Winter). And one of its upsides is that we can once more see the deer in the park from our...

You're definitely worth enduring a few minor hassles for ;-)

Did you maybe send me a postcard? An ex-colleague from the old job said he must bring me my postcard, so I'm guessing (hoping) it's from you.

It's getting really hot here, and I can't say I like it. It's so humid that I'm sweating and growing gills as I'm typing this. Sexy, hey?

I miss emoticons too, but I must say that the new site is growing on me, especially blogs. It's so much easier to post now. And of course you'll stay, you silly. *insert the winking smiley face*

Whoa, I suppose this dates me terribly, but I find navigating the new site somewhat difficult, plus I think some functions don't work properly yet. Oh well...I'll just go away for a few days and hope the bugs will be fixed when I come back! Meanwhile, and just to test this new fangled blog, here's some more pics of me (it's all about me, right?)...

Ciao my little chickadees! I realize the world (not even the SG world) is exactly holding its collective breath for updates from my pedestrian and predictable life, but I feel the need to vent in order to stave off a minor bout of depression. It's amazing to me how quickly the enjoyment and well-being engendered by my vacation have evaporated under the onslaught of routine...

Oh dear Kaicito, I hope you feel better soon.
I like Autumn too, but now in Brazil it's Spring.
I hate to see Christmas things before December. But here always starts in October, after Oktoberfest (German party).
Have a great weekend!

That looks like an amazing trip. I hope that you had a lot of fun while you were there. I can only hope later in my life I can travel and enjoy the world like that. Also, thank you for your kind words about my weight loss. I know that it will come eventually the confidence that comes from this.

hahahaha this pictures name should probably be death proof muacks!
