It's a tad late for more V-Day shenanigans, but I was just reminded of today being Lillian Disney's birthday - Walt's wife, she was born in 1899 and thus 2 years older than he. Someone posted this set of pics of the two clowning around a little in a photo booth or something (they must be in their -and the century's- 50s), and I just...

Right. Basic literacy, with little to no delicacy. Eloquence is a lost art. When communication caters to the masses, degradation of language is sure to occur. I try not to succumb to the  corruption, but I'm caught unawares many times and end up swept away using vulgarities and other elegant-less phrases. Fuck.

Lovely pictures!

Welcome to the V-Day edition of Sets I'd Still Love to see on FP, or SISLTSOFP for short. Basically, my life so far has been wasted, because the beauty that is @DALI SG was hidden from me...now that I've discovered her (on V-Day, no less), I'm flabbergasted to see that her last set from 2013 hasn't gone FP yet...go drop some love on it, and...

This one goes out to all the curvy gals on SG :-) Happy VALentine's day! (Never mind the YAL please, if they're not your cup of tea...but I thought this was cute and nerdy)

The worst part about it is the material expectation has been drilled into absolutely everyone. Why do we need a 'day' to give gifts? Kind of ruins the element of surprise, and removes the kindness factor. I far prefer giving gifts when they're unexpected.
adelina:
Adorable. I love the over-commercialized fake holiday crap! It's terrible, I know, but even if I don't buy all the cutesy crap the stores sell, I still enjoy ooh-ing and ah-ing and wonder what they will think of next?!

Science fact - 7 out of 10 people prefer reading this blog to getting poked repeatedly in the eye with a sharp stick...and I'm working on the other 3, mainly by using a pointier stick. Ah, seriously, it's Sunday afternoon here, and a dreary one at that...and a dreary week ahead of me. Happily, the low point of the week (as far as I know)...

adelina:
LOVE Doona's hat. // I remember the 1990s as well. // Maybe you should attend operettas more often to help with your age crisis. // I hope your week turned out brighter and happier than anticipated. <333

I wish! But, I did take a tiny part last year in helping with the Indiegogo financing of @Sawa 's South American trip... I'd almost forgotten about that (and for all I know Sawa is currently somewhere between the Rio Grande and Ushuaia) but I got an update the other day telling me that my reward in the form of a DVD will be on...

Bleh... apparently the entire world is breathlessly waiting for the Sochi Winter Olympics to start. The entire world? Not me! I can't think of many things more pointless and boring than watching people make their way down a slope on skiers, sleds, or their butts (ok, that last one might actually be fun to watch...if only it were a discipline!). As if the utter pointlessness...

Its incredible to actually think at such a age she already have such a mature voice :D Wont be wataching the snow olympics though don't think it is that exciting cept tobogganing Men in leotards in a weird sausage shaped sled how funny is that? haha The bit on your Korean made me laugh haha I'll be sure to keep asking you bout pencils and tables haha
kaicito:
@almost_missed Don't tell me you knew about Deanna Durbin (w/o googling)! And yes, she must have been 16 or so. Tobogganing? Just between you and me, the only winter sport I may tune into is ice skating... pretty girls in short short skirts gliding over the ice or kissing the ice with their butts is somewhat entertaining ;-) And now excuse me, I think I see a pencil...on a table...
