In a move that will date me something awful, I'm about to paste my Bob Hope autographed picture into my brand-new copy of the brand-new Hope biography which I've been devouring since receiving it on Wednesday.

@arroia Well I enjoy biographies, and I've always loved Bob Hope, so I'm enjoying it. Sometimes, that can be dangerous, as when the biography exposes a person as being rotten, but that's not the case here. Hope was no angel (and the bio would be awfully boring if he had been) but he was a pretty good human being and I find his story...from utter poverty to hobnobbing with presidents...pretty thrilling.
Back from a short jaunt to the German seacoast town of Stralsund, where the sea breeze did a good job blowing the cobwebs from my mind. How has everyone been? Have I missed any new SGs? ;-)

I was a wee lass at the time, but I remember watching footage of the falling wall on television. I remember seeing the elation on the faces of the citizens of Germany. It was so beautiful.

Up to now it was kind of hard to believe I'll be in Beijing three weeks from now...but now the visa are here, flights and hotel are booked, the Lonely Planet Beijing guide is on hand, so I suppose there's no turning back now.

It's a great city. I was there in January once and loved it also. Went to Great Wall when it was frigid.
