I guess it's not really the same thing as a marathon, but I kind of pride myself on the fact that I did walk 42 kilometers (some 25 miles) this past week... 7 times around the Tempelhof Airfield - true, spread over three days and not quite at running speed, but still ;-) With our car in rehab (see previous post), I may have to...

Still good to go, though, right?

I'm not entirely sure about the process that goes into choosing a set as Set of the Day, but I'm confident that it's all based on a highly scientific and transparent algorithm that factors in any number of criteria...either that, or a set name is picked out of a hat.

Anyway, I'm sure I exhorted and enjoined my few-but-elite followers to support the exquisiteness that...

I'm somewhat proud of myself today - while I have walked the perimeter of the former Tempelhof airfield before, today I walked around 3 times, for almost exactly 18 kilometres/a little over 11 miles, at a (for me) fairly brisk speed.

Here's an aerial view of the site, now a park..the Nazi-era airport building, once up there with the Pentagon among the largest structures on...

Can't miss wishing my fellow Gemini and one of my all-time fave SGs, the lovely and glamorous @ness a very happy birthday today, and much happiness now and forever! There's no such thing as a bad picture of her, but here's a recent favorite:

EDIT: I found a flickr set showcasing these "korkmaennchen" (little cork men):

I may have posted these little guys before, but I'm always happy to see them whenever they pop up in Berlin's streets (you need to look up to even notice them). Haven't been able to find out what free and fun-loving spirit places them on street signs... but I like it!

@hexxus You do that! I'm not even going to suggest meeting up, as I'm just an old-ish fart...but dm me if you think brunch or even some sightseeing is doable on the July weekend you're here.
hexxus:
@kaicito brunch would be nice. Tom and I are vegetarian though

If you know the famed Venus by Botticelli, I'll have you know that she has nothing on @cassiee who gloriously and voluptuously rises from the surf in her new set From the Sea Make sure to check it out, leave loving comments, and contribute to her turning a well-deserved PINK
