With Germany gasping for air in the sweltering heat, expected to reach as much as 100°F today or tomorrow, I prefer to remember my birthday weekend of just two weeks ago, when I had the my feet in the sand and the sea breeze in my hair :-)

@iggy I love the South (in theory, and not including the redneck racism), but the climate is not for me.

You know, the only thing about the climate here that I like is that it doesn't snow much and when it does everything shuts down. I don't have to worry about having to drive to work in a blizzard here, unlike when I lived in New Jersey. But I honestly hate the heat. You can always put more layers on. You can only take off so many before you're arrested for public indecency.
Is it just me, or does @drave have a totally succulent (and I hope this means what I think it means) set of Hot Lips?

Da muss man unserer lieben Bundesregierung tatsächlich mal ernsthaft empfehlen sich an den USA zu orientieren. Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ich das wirklich mal sage (bzw. schreibe)... ;)
I suppose that's true for virtually all of the girls (and some of the guys) on here ;-)
I suppose not a lot of people even know the name of Mary Blair, but she was a unique contributor to some classic Disney animated movies and theme park attractions. Working mostly as a concept artist, she created fantastic colorful landscapes.
Here's a short (00:01:28) video tribute to her (and Walt) presented this year at the Annecy animation festival in France.
