As the days keep on tumbling by, and the wall calendar is getting rapidly thinner, I would like to get an early start wishing y'all a restful and joyful time (whether or not you celebrate any of the seasonal holidays) as we close out the old year and ring in the new one in just a few all-too-short days - which in my case will mostly be spent at the in-law's, so SG time will be severely limited.
I'll crib a few appropriate lines from The New Yorker to illustrate how I feel about the old and new year:
In many ways the year was ghastly,
With so much going downhill fastly -
But let's assume a hopeful mien
Pertaining to Two-Oh-Nineteen!
Whatever the new year may bring, I rest assured knowing that the SG community will go on strong, and the daily stream of pulchritude (look it up) will not cease, injecting much needed joy into even the drabbest and downbeat-est day.
