I have taken the road of copy and paste - from my LJ - solely because the moments in the day when I can actually type out a complete thought are few and far between so repetition must persevere in the place of creative diversity.

Meh. I am going to have such difficulty returning to the real world - work specifically - after this.
Everything feels safe and protected and magical here in our little tribe's kingdom of all things kick ass - I don't want to ever leave it.
But that is a habit of mine it is high time to break - that habit being on dwelling on...

Mommy again! congrats. He's beautiful. I can't imagine how happy you (and your family are).

He is beautiful ... but enhanced ever so much more by your enrapture. Congratulations to your whole family!
I am a mother. I am aware that this is no secret to anyone. But I suppose what is so impressive to me, in particular, about that fact is that I am moments away from being a mother for a second time.
My daughter's infancy seems so hazy and distant at times, I thank goodness for the endless hours of video I have to keep...

Do you ever think about all the people woven into the fabric of your past? How many of them have made themselves into pieces of you?
I have taken drastic measures to whittle the list of people who share my space or energy into a concise personal who's who but that does not mean I have forgotten all those who were removed, or their influence...

happy mother's day weekend to you mama!
We have determined that the remaining contenders on The Apprentice are less than up to par in our books. Being in Marketing for as long as I have, I am fascinated by the challenges these eager beavers are given by The Donald and how they choose to bring it all to life. Sometimes I am impressed, sometimes I am bemused, mostly I am blown away...

It's easy to think of beavers when viewing the Donald.
Big, red beavers with sideswept, blowdried fur.

anywhoo... i know it's been a while since you had a little one - did you two register anywhere this time? please let me know. and if not, what would be utterly useful.
we went out today for that great adventure, and i've decided it's amazing how much shit babies'r'us wants you to think you need. fuckin' eh.
that said, registering is kinda fun. doesn't cost anything... yet...

I do not think there is any finer cereal on this here continent than Acme's 100% Natural Oats & Honey granola. When I was being raised by my exceedingly health fanatic momma we had boat loads of this stuff. It was like a Heavenly treat in the midst of plain rice cakes, no sugar or meat or salt or ANYTHING that tastes good food assortments...

oh, lady, i am so excited for you!!!! i had a similar conversation this week with little sophie (sebastian and sophie... hmm...) - something along the lines of "i'm so very proud of you, my little fishie, for making it to statistical viability. everything from here on out is gravy, so you just keep on keepin on, chica." sort of like the line from that morphine song: 'yeah, i'd like to see a little more fat.'
kudos and good thoughts your way. can't wait to see the kiddo!!!

hey lil lady, what's been going on in yer neck of the woods??
i have finally come out of my funk and now i'm regaining speed. it's a good thing to feel. i'm glad i'm over the hump.
yes, the boy (essbee) makes me squishy too, he always has. i've loved him too long to let go. it's amazing to think that this is the man i may spend the rest of my life with, something in this world has the keys on this one, i'm just along for the ride. we've had the difficulties and come through time and time again, that's something special. i learned a lot with the last one, i'm glad that's over. i'm not sure that relationship will ever turn out to be even half the relationship this one has always and will always be. i think i just wanted to conquer the other ones heart more than i wanted to be "in love" with him. that's part of what made the transition for me. realising that maybe what i felt wasn't "in love" but more of a challenge to be in love.
wow, would you look at that, i wrote a mouthful.
oh and BTW, you look bee-yoo-ti-ful!!!!!

Yeah, the Keswick isn't my favorite either. We scored 5th row seats, though, so it's not all bad. She played mostly new stuff, but a lot of oldies but goodies. It was a good time, mostly because the Keswick sells a good lager.
Speaking of disposable stardom...
I have this very dear friend who is a record producer. He has a history in da biz that spans many decades but really was at the pinnacle of his success when he brought Aerosmith and Foreigner to the forefront and from there started merging mega hair individuals into "Super" Hair Conglomerates (i.e. Whitesnake - ack!). Alas, the 80's refused to...

Most people are into pop music; they just have different ideas of what is acceptable pop music.
Anyone who's just into metal or punk is probably a teen, anyone who's just into classical or jazz is probably old, and anyone who's just into respectable underground music is probably insufferable to listen to.

Now you've totally piqued my interest. This is one of my favorite movies of all times. You have to tell me the story!!!!!! in other words, "Excuse me my Brother, but may I borrow a copy of your 'Hey Soul Classics?!'"

We live so many lifetimes...so many versions of ourselves are manifested throughout the years. If you look at your past in segments, each partition, if you will, becomes it's own little mini series. Each segment - be it a five-year span or 5-month span is engulfed in the unfolding of the characters intertwined in the settings and scenery of that time. The mentality du jour...

I just read that the little 9-year-old girl, Jessie Runsfold I think her name is, who was abducted by her neighbor was not only molested and murdered - no that wasn't heart wrenching e-fucking-nough - but they now believe she was buried alive.
And I am just so honestly disturbed and saddened by that all at once that it is near overhwelming. The thought of...

When I was a child I thought Heaven was located on telephone wires.
No matter where you are, what country you live in, what state of mind you may be dwelling within, dog shit still smells like dog shit.

When I was little I swore that the little concrete blocks on the border of the Forest Preserves in Chicago were trolls that had been trapped in the sunlight.

funny how being pregnant, then havin a little one, will make you realize how little control you actually have, hmm? and how okay that is... at least so far. not really looking forward to the sleep deprivation, but... oh well. it's part of the process.
