So, out of boredom, I think I'm going to create a championship belt (like the ones in UFC or WWE), but make it entirely out of Magic the Gathering cards. I've got tons of unused and essentially worthless cards that I can cover in tape. I just need to make it thick and somewhat durable, so it can actually be worn and look semi-decent, and not fall apart the day after I made it. I'll be needing a fuck ton of tape though, and a lot of creativity. I'll try to post pictures of my progress along the way, by editing this post. Right now at this very moment, it is 10:37am (Tuesday), so I got plenty of time in the day. I took care most of my errands yesterday, so it's time to get to work! Time to buy tape...
Step 1: The materials. Two rolls of regular tape, and two rolls of packaging tape. 100 unused and near worthless Magic cards.

Step 2: Basic measurements. This belt has to be durable and actually wearable if I want it to be successful. If I want to wear it into my local card shop, it wouldn't surprise me if people want to wear it as well. I'm about average weight (190lbs, 5'11, 27 years old), so my waist won't be the same as others. I roughly measured my waist to be about 110cm, so a range from 100 to 130 should be good, I think. Anyways, this is what I've got so far.

If the picture is getting cut off, it should be six cards wide on each side of the center buckle.
None of it is actually attached to another card. What I have done so far is just get the basic outline of the belt. I might make it one card wider on both ends, because this thing actually has to connected somehow on the back, and be somewhat adjustable. It doesn't have to be tight like an ordinary belt, but it should be somewhat secure to where anyone can walk around with it and it not fall off of them. That will be the biggest challenge for sure.
Also, the cards you see are doubled up. I taped two cards together (the backs of the cards showing on both sides) so it's a bit durable and thicker. I'm going to pretty much laminate the whole thing with the packaging tape, but that's a later step.
