I don't know why I don't hate retail. I could almost feel content doing it for the rest of my life. I hate when I tell people my major is comparitive literature and they ask me what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. Like they know what they're going to do with the rest of their lives, or they like what they are doing. It's about hobbies people! It's about not doing what you like as a job because then you'd hate it too much. But most people are too dumb to not take that personally if I were to say it in response to their original question. I'm sure what they'd want to hear is "teaching". I'd be the worst teacher ever, I'd be a complete dick to all of my students, but the most lenient grader because it would save me work. It isn't that I'm lazy I just don't get the point of a lot of stuff. If what I'm doing isn't fun, I don't get the point.
I'm watching Lost in Translation for the millionth time. Jesus Christ they need to have more movies like this. Does anyone know any similar movies? You know, movies without any real plot where someone likeable just wanders around for awhile. Oh Bill.

i hated retail when i did it, but that's because all they let me do was wander around and ask people if they needed any help. and then recommend movies when they didn't know what they wanted. ack. i just showed them pedro almodovar movies no matter what they were in the mood for. 'cause really, who wouldn't like an almodovar movie?
on the other hand, i didn't mind telemarketing, so i think my job choices might be different then the average bears.
