Free will? I'm undecided. It seems to me that we do have it, but that presents a few logical problems. Any situation we're confronted with bares a limited number of choices, whether we're able to count them or not, limited none-the-less. This in turn results in a set number of out-comes and means that, with a bit of know-how and work, they can be predicted. And when you really look at it, human behavior on a general scale is fairly predictable.

There is also the problem of "God" or any omnipotent diety one may believe in. If all futures are known by something, then any choice we make would be part of some plan or framework that was already in place before we made the choice. So, you can see the problem there.

I personally don't uphold any beliefs in God, or practice any other religion. I simply believe in the possibility of one or all of them being "true" and that seems to allow me the "feeling" of making personal choice. Our society tends to regard personal choice as a form of self-validation while also supporting the majority belief that there is a "God" of some sort who knows everything. Rather contradictory, if you ask me, but it isn, after all, a confusing world.

I've heard more people say the exact same thing. It's odd, because Conservatives make "less government" their hue and battle cry, yet when society starts to change in a direction they don't like, they start talking about amending the damn Constitution.

What is your thesis about?

Yeah, it was from Iowa. I knew my portfolio wasn't strong enough to get me in this year. It didn't leave me disappointed. It actually fired me up to start thinking about better story seeds and imaginative work. I visited Iowa, and sat in on some classes. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I liked it. A lot.

Do you have any sections of your thesis posted online? I enjoy reading that kind of stuff.
