I hear ya. I've thought about this type of thing in the past adn part of me wonders if our technological world has made the physical world too small too quickly. I wonder if people are blatantly overwhelmed by the fact that they can even get daily reports on event in other countries around the world. There was a time, after all, when people didn't even get daily reports on events in other states. Maybe people aren't ready for the technology we have. If that is so, is it not frightening that the technology industry advances ever more quickly? Will it only serve to widen the gap for people who can't internalize the events of other nations? ... or are these people simply stuck in a child-like level of ego-centricity that no changes to technology could assist? *?GWAR? What is it good for?!*
